This incredible organization feeds, educates and houses homeless queer youth - ensuring that some of the most vulnerable members of our community receive the love and support they deserve. Each year we attend “A Place At The Table” - AFCs annual gala fundraiser - and each year it brings us to tears and inspires us to do even more to support them. Although I never met Mark Bingham, I have friends who knew him. 911 still seems surreal to this day to anyone who was in manhattan that day. Hearing of Mark’s heroic effort gave me hope that perhaps his actions may have normalized the lgbtq experience for some who may have never budged in their convictions. We all have the same hopes and dreams. Tuesday Morning, the song Melissa Etheridge wrote in remembrance will forever remind me of this life altering day.
