Got hit by a truck on my way home today.

The damage looks like it’s going to be an expensive repair, and honestly, it’s pretty disheartening especially after spending the entire shift listening to praise and worship music.

Not exactly how I imagined ending the day. But cars can be fixed. I’m just grateful that I’m okay. Still trusting God through the good days and the difficult ones. 🙏❤️🎶 by @fredriccortez

Your boy finally got to do a live recording at ABS-CBN Studio B! 🙏❤️🎶

What an incredible honor and a huge milestone in my journey as a live recording engineer.

This place means so much to me. My mom, Elise Cortez, and my tita, Maxie Goloy, worked here for many years. Some of the people here even remembered my late dad—they used to see him hanging out at the ground area with the late Gina Lopez, probably while waiting for my mom to finish work. Walking through these halls brought back so many memories.

To top it all off, I had the privilege of recording an incredible group of musicians, including one of my dream drummers to record—the one and only Benjie “Bagets” Mendez! What an experience!

A special thank you to senior studio engineer Paolo for all the help and for the fun conversations throughout the session. It was extra special knowing that he worked alongside my mom and tita here at the studio years ago. It really made this milestone feel like everything had come full circle.

Another thing that made the day extra special was discovering how many connections there were through my brother, PC. They’re actually good friends of his—they’ve been playing music together since the early 2000s. They kept joking that I look and even sound like him. 😄 small world!

Grateful for every opportunity, every lesson, and every open door. None of this would be possible without God’s grace. All glory to the One above! 🙏❤️🎶 by @fredriccortez

@furelise_87 Had the privilege of doing PA duties for my mom as she sang backup vocals for OPM legends Basil Valdez, Ogie Alcasid, Celeste Legaspi, and National Artist Ryan Cayabyab!

Such an honor to witness them live — truly in awe hearing these legends perform. Rare and timeless in today’s music scene. What a privilege. 🙏❤️🎶
