“一群群 Swarm After Swarm” 酷酷的虫 kukudechong now available on all streaming platforms 🐛 @kukudech0ng ”一群群 Swarm After Swarm“ is a humorous, heartwarming, joyful, and playfully clever work of insect music, feeling like a party thrown inside a cartoonish microscopic world. Kukudechong collages delicate textures, bouncy rhythms, and quirky passages, inviting a swarm of unidentifiable creatures to gather, shift, and collide within your headphones, gradually forging an order of their own. Weaving seamlessly across experimental pop, IDM, footwork, grime, and ambient, the album recombines fractured drum patterns, simple melodies, warm synth timbres, and subtle sonic details. The tempo swings from fast and twitchy to awkward and sluggish, while the sound drifts through constant displacements and sudden turns—creating a light, delightfully eccentric sense of humor. Beijing-based producer 酷酷的虫 kukudechong constructs a virtual microscopic world through a quirky, cartoonish sonic language, weaving between intricate sound textures and collage-like structures. Influenced by a background in printmaking and visual design, the artist approaches sound much like visual media: magnifying minute details, juxtaposing and slicing disparate fragments, and reassembling them into vividly tactile sonic landscapes. The music constantly shifts between bouncy rhythms, simple melodies, and eccentric passages—at times driving forward with twitchy momentum, at others becoming deliberately clumsy and clunky, like a cartoon animation running with a minor glitch. Beneath this light, cartoonish texture, the sound isn‘t always smooth; it occasionally veers off course, generating an awkwardly humorous tension through abrupt pauses, displacements, and sudden turns.
