It’s THE hardcore hopscotch day party with Committment (Philly), Muscle (Baltimore), Free Bleed (Wilmington), Bridge Burner (Charlotte), and Mean Habit (Carrboro).

9/10, 12-5, at The Pour House in Raleigh. This show is FREE thanks to our sponsors: @opendate @cooksmillwhiskey @nodabrewing @newbelgium_nc

Commitment is an inevitability, set to release their full length, “Fear Of”, on LA-via-Philadelphia label Get Better Records this spring. “Fear Of” packs a punch composed of raw punk, hardcore, and d-beat inspired music that essentially results in fast punk that sometimes includes groove as often as it does blast beats. Lyrically, the themes of “Fear Of “include sexual liberation, sacred rage, vengeance, violence, insecurity, surveillance, overconsumption, social media, and mind control/brainwashing. The band aims to peel off listener’s faces, leaving grinning skulls and exposed brains as the canvas for vocalist Tatiana mi Salazar’s indoctrination. The formula is quite simple, but the result isn’t.

Muscle is a Baltimore hardcore trio making sharp, anxious, deeply physical music, layering anxious hooks with gut-punch screams and lyrics that are dark, weird, funny, and honestly very hard to shake. Muscle sits comfortably alongside more conventional punk and hardcore acts, but pushes sonically and conceptually into more unstable territory. Built for screaming and convulsing. An intense, cathartic, good-ass time.

Mean Habit is a queer, all trans/femme, hardcore-inspired, post punk band from Carrboro, NC. Seething, palpable, raw rage meets poetic writing about highly personal experiences and their political contexts. Mean Habit screams about transphobic fetishization, intimate partner abuse’s role in patriarchy, and the reclamation of sites of dehumanization while rallying for autonomy, love, and the annihilation of capitalism.

Free Bleed is hardcore punk from Wilmington, NC. We are queer, unapologetic, politically driven, fast, and emotional. We are: Dallas, Mak, Brad, Jackson, and Rachel. You can find our recent EP, Justified Violence on bandcamp.

We will still be doing specialty menus with seasonal options and bill-inspired names but we wanted a forever menu that you can always count on finding wherever we are and when we have four walls around us! Our mission is to open a venue and we’ve seen many come and go and watched the ones still standing struggle but we believe this is something important to our community so as an ode and a reminder of our “why” we named our drinks after a few lost venues close to us. A bonus drink is the fan favorite @freebleedhc drink we launched in March and so it will be staying with us by popular demand, not to mention two members of free bleed are part owners of this venture so that feels right 🥲✨💕🫂 taken in Wilmington, North Carolina by @freebleedhc

June 12th, 7PM, at Rubies on Five Points!

Ick: Fronted by feral T-girl Jackie Westcott along with the ripping drums of Eli Allsup, Ick is a vicious, deafeningly loud 2 piece band from the former car theft capitol of California, Modesto. Ick’s sound is rotten amalgamation of hardcore punk, noise rock, sludge, thrash and whatever else they feel like will leave you drooling, incapacitated and euphoric with every orifice you own rattled to your very soul. Ick is a hurricane of noise, raw energy and filth that you will regret missing for the rest of your pathetic little life!
For fans of:Bad Brains, GLOSS, Eyehategod, Melvin’s, Melt-Banana, Bikini Kill, Amyl and the Sniffers, Motörhead

Free Bleed: Wilmington, North Carolina Queer Antifascist HC PUNK! Coming off the recent release of their EP Justified Violence, they are a band created from friendship, mutual aid and community organizing.

Swallow These City Lights: Two piece transfemme post-hardcore/math rock band from Raleigh, NC. Our music is playful, cathartic, equally loose and technical, and may at times resemble a tree falling into your childhood bedroom. We are both very passionately obsessed with the post-hardcore genre, being inspired especially by bands like Jeromes Dream and Unwound. Lyrically, we tackle themes like the state of the world, grief, and the perspectives of a balloon wanting freedom.

For fans of: Jeromes Dream, Unwound, The Dismemberment Plan, Biffy Clyro, Brave Little Abacus, Indian Summer
