The New Balance Appreciation Day at @metrobardc was a complete vibe. The summer weather, good food, and the community that showed up made it a cultural event. It was a perfect representation of our culture.

Big thanks to @939wkys @beatsbarsandbourbon_boyz and @decadesdc for making sure everything came together flawlessly.

@weareblackalley was cranking as usual
The oysters from @eatwwsco couldn't have been any fresher

“Dance Is Our Protest. Joy Is Our Weapon”

Boom Selecta is a high-energy celebration of sound, style, and community—where Reggage, Soca, Afrobeat, and Hip Hop lovers, culture shapers, and nightlife heads come together for an experience that feels both electric and intentional. Built around world-class DJs, genre-bending sets, and an unapologetically vibrant dance floor, Boom Selecta has quickly become a space where people come to move, connect, and let go.

On April 11th, we’re turning up even louder as we celebrate Boom Selecta’s 1-Year Anniversary—one full year of packed rooms, unforgettable nights, and a community that keeps showing up ready to dance, sweat, and celebrate life together. This isn’t just another party—it’s a milestone, and everyone in the room is part of the story.

*Food will be available for purchase throughout the evening*

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and was able to reach out to their loved ones and family. 🎄 🎅🏾

Making magic with @dmv.santaclaus was a great way to wrap up 2025. Hopefully we'll see you some time next winter and capture memories for you and your family.

It's Christmas time again, and that means working with @dmv.santaclaus to snap holiday family portraits that capture the wonder, amazement, and joy that meeting Santa brings. 🎅🏾 🎄

The kids loved him and the portraits came out perfectly in my biased opinion 😉

Sometimes you can't use your dedicated camera to photograph the world around you. Sometimes you're going 65 MPH in traffic. Sometimes it's both.

Thank good for the mounted mobile phone camera.

One day I'll have a small @leicacamerausa with me at all times, or maybe a popular @fujifilmx_us X100. by @freestar_media

Adventures in location scouting: Meridian Hill Park edition.

I decided to check out the park and see if they had any blooming trees or bushes. They had nothing. I found lots of neglected pools and fountains, grass that needed to be cut, and folks escaping the heat by relaxing in the shade. I could imagine doing a shoot with the city in the background if the clouds look nice, otherwise it's a pass for now. Maybe next spring when everything is in bloom.

Taking the time to observe the beauty around me, and being lucky enough to have my @canonusa EOS R with me so I could capture it. One of the many experiences I had in Nashville.

With the advice of a wonderful person, I ventured out to the Glenstone art installation and gallery in Potomac, Maryland. The art was amazing and so was the connection everything had to nature.

I wanted to travel light since it involved a lot of walking on a hot day. I brought my @canonusa EOS R and @sigmaphoto 35mm F1. 4. I brought my speedlite/flash but of course I forgot the batteries. Fortunately this was not a paid shoot. Another pro tip, wipe your lens before taking it out to shoot.

The awkward and stressful moment when you realize you don't have another battery that is charged up. On multiple times this @anker_official 45 watt charger has saved the day. I just ordered to more 45 watt chargers so I can have one in each camera bag. It also helps when other people need to charge up their phone... It happens a lot. by @freestar_media

Night moves! In Maryland, just a few blocks outside of DC. I always say "have your camera ready for a photoshoot or event", but sometimes your phone will have to do. by @freestar_media
