i’ve had some crazy ups & downs these past 10 years and the one constant joy has been her. i’m very aware of the time that has passed & yet it feels like that drive back to fresno to get her was just yesterday. i’ll also never get over that first photo.

she still has the energy of a two year old (arthritis & right hip dysplasia be damned). she still runs to the door when she hears the words “coffee” & “ride”. when she hears the shower running, she still shoves me out of the way to inspect it & ensure my safety before i’m allowed to get in lol. she will still come sit with me when she knows i’m feeling sad or anxious. she still growls at me when I cuddle with her and will pretend to bite me as her third warning to leave her alone… but will be my little shadow & give me “guilt trip puppy dog eyes” when she knows i’m getting ready to leave the house🤭

she’s my whole world, my soul dog, my howling queen. it’s an absolute honor to be your mama, babygirl. happy 10th birthday my luna, mama loves you to the moon & back🌙🫶🏼 by @frenchayyyy

It’s official. I am a Lyla sun, Tarah moon, and BK rising😌

I’m so glad I finally got to meet Lyla, she’s an absolute gem!
I love that she’s not afraid to talk about the things that made her who she is & how important they still are to her. Lyla being so open about her mental struggles really resonated with me, that really great things can still come from being in a super dark place in your life for a while. I need to remember that. I can’t wait to finish this series, I know I’m gonna be sad to see Sweetwater Peak go so quickly though!

Bonus pic at the end of me telling Lyla how jealous I was of her birthday party this year😜 I just KNOW she had so much fun LOL. Thank you @authorlylasage & @therippedbodice for such a great event🩷💚 taken in The Ripped Bodice Bookstore by @frenchayyyy

nbd, just telling my close & personal friend Tarah that she can use my name in one of her future books & then proceeding to tell her that “I have no fcking chill”… oops😅

i can’t fully express the emotions that come when meeting your favorite author for the first time, but i’m so glad i had the opportunity to tell her that her books have really gotten me thru some tough times.

thank you heartbound for another amazing event🩵 by @frenchayyyy
