Accompagnez- moi à l’inauguration de Petite Lucie, le tout nouveau café d’inspiration française à Houston ! Situé au cœur de Downtown, ce café est l’endroit idéal pour faire une pause autour d’un café, de délicieuses pâtisseries ou d’un bon repas. L’ambiance était incroyable, avec de nombreuses activités pour les enfants, de la musique, des comédiens hauts en couleur et, bien sûr, de la danse. Leur menu est tout simplement irrésistible, avec un large choix de boissons, de plats et de pâtisseries, et le service… absolument exceptionnel. C’était un vrai plaisir de voir les habitants de Houston profiter du beau temps malgré la chaleur, et encore plus de les voir savourer de délicieuses spécialités françaises.

Ce nouveau café français est à ne pas rater, aussi beau que gourmand !

Located in the center of Downtown, this cafe is the perfect place to stop for coffee, pastries, and food. The event had the best vibe with plenty of activities for kids, live music, fun actors, and of course, dancing. They have such an enticing menu with an array of drinks, food, and pastries, and the service was simply incredible.It was so nice to see Houstonians getting outside despite this warm weather and even more exciting to see them enjoying French treats.

This Friday, Consul General Frank Marchetti presented France’s highest distinction, the French Legion of Honor, to Henry "HJ" Kolinek Jr., a Texas World War II veteran whose bravery helped liberate France.

At nearly 101 years old, Mr. Kolinek's service and sacrifice continue to inspire future generations.

We are honored to celebrate his extraordinary legacy during our Bastille Day festivities in Houston.

A historic moment for our community.

We are deeply honored that Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo officially proclaimed July 14, 2026, as Bastille Day in Harris County. This proclamation recognizes the enduring ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity, celebrates the 250th anniversary of the historic friendship between France and the United States, and acknowledges the invaluable contributions of Houston’s French and Francophone community.

It also honors the Alliance Française de Houston and the Consulate General of France in Houston for their continued commitment to promoting French language, culture, education, and international understanding.

Receiving this proclamation made this year’s Bastille Day celebration even more meaningful.

This past Saturday, the Alliance Française de Houston proudly hosted Houston’s largest Bastille Day celebration, bringing together thousands of guests for a joyful day of French culture, music, cuisine, art, family activities, and community.

It was a beautiful reminder that culture has the power to bring people together and create lasting connections.
To everyone who attended, thank you for celebrating with us. Your enthusiasm and support are what make this event so special every year.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Consulate General of France in Houston, our generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, talented performers, vendors, partners, and the entire Alliance Française de Houston team.

🇫🇷🇺🇸 On Friday July 10th 2026, France and Houston celebrated the enduring friendship between our two nations with the dedication of an original 1825 bust of the Marquis de Lafayette at the historic Julia Ideson Building. We were very honored to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Independence and the crucial role played by Marquis de Lafayette with our American friends.
