Back in April 2026, @jaakkoojanen , @yvesmarchon and I made shit happen, about a silly and uncertain project I imagined. We road-tripped across Switzerland, camping out along the way, with one goal in mind: trying to skate the concrete anti-tank blocks known as the Toblerones, nicknamed after the famous Swiss chocolate. We knew we were on a tough mission, with no guarantee that these things could actually be skated. But somehow, everything  lined up perfectly. Switzerland was in full-on postcard mode: perfect weather, incredible landscapes, sleeping out in beautiful spots, and almost everywhere we went, a lake nearby with fresh water to jump into and recharge our bodies. Jaakko accomplished the mission gracefully, and Yves captured the whole adventure in a beautiful film that we’ll start presenting this Thursday in Paris. Huge thanks to @musee_ethnographie_neuchatel for producing this project as part of the SKATE OF MIND exhibition, on view at the museum until March 2027. To @elementbrand for the logistical and promotional support. And a special shout-out to @jerome_heim who helped us out the whole way like a true Swiss Army knife . SHAPES OF RESISTANCE will be screened this Thursday, October 1st,  from 7 to 10 PM,  at Climb Up, Avenue de la Porte d’Italie, Paris 13 RSVP: Link in bio taken in Switzerland by @frenchfred

New teaser for the film SHAPES OF RESISTANCE, greatly directed by @yvesmarchon , about my special photography project exploring the Swiss Toblerones with @jaakkoojanen The Toblerones are concrete anti-tank barriers built across the Swiss landscape during WWII. Their raw geometric forms immediately caught my eye, but whether they could actually be skated was far from certain. That uncertainty became part of the project: exploring these military structures with Jaakko and finding out if — and how — they could be turned into skateable terrain, creating an unexpected dialogue between history, landscape, architecture and movement. The project was created especially for the ongoing exhibition SKATE OF MIND at @musee_ethnographie_neuchatel , running until March 2027. The film is on view at the museum and will also go on a screening tour with the kind support of @elementbrand First screenings: Paris — October 1st, Climb Up Paris 13, 19:00–22:00 Helsinki — October 1st, during @suomifornia fest It will also be presented during the @boardcultureexposure_ festival in Biarritz. Stay tuned for more screenings information taken in Switzerland by @frenchfred

#SkateOfMind #Neuchâtel #Musée #Skateboard taken in Switzerland by @frenchfred

Shapes of Resistance is a short film by @yvesmarchon about my latest photographic project, created specifically for the SKATE OF MIND exhibition at @musee_ethnographie_neuchatel, on view until March 7, 2027. For now, the film can only be seen at the exhibition. The project revolves around the Toblerones—not the chocolate, but the anti-tank concrete obstacles strategically scattered along Switzerland's borders. Their distinctive geometry immediately caught my skateboarder's eye. Then reality kicked in: they were simply too steep, too rough, too intimidating to skate. But I couldn't help thinking... maybe @jaakkoojanen could find a way. In April 2026, we set off on a four-day mission, fully aware it might end in complete failure. Instead, everything came together. One of those rare moments when all the planets align. If you're anywhere near Neuchâtel, it's well worth the trip. The exhibition is packed with incredible historical material and offers a unique perspective on the rich culture and history of skateboarding. taken in Musée d'ethnographie de Neuchâtel by @frenchfred
