PART 1: Why I Moved to Belize 🌴

Earlier this year, I set on a journey to Belize with my children.

I didn’t want to run away from my problems, but I wanted to space to sit with them and face them head on.

I wanted to be more present. I wanted out of the matrix so I can have more freedom. Belize felt so much more aligned and offered adventure.

Like many people, I had a vision of what life abroad could be. Some parts exceeded my expectations, but ofc life requires challenges to grow.

This is the beginning of a story that changed my life forever.

And trust me… I did not think it would take this turn. It doesn’t end here though…

not because I avoid chaos or suppress emotions, bc I don’t.

I just simply refuse to let every external circumstance dictate my internal state. 🌊

part 2 is still coming 😅

- Mexico also has a sensitive sewage system and will also have you throw the tissue away
- Costa Rica also has that sweet ketchup. In Belize, it’s really all about the hot sauce. (You can find what we consider ketchup around btw)
- if you are brave enough to take a stray dog and it belongs to someone else, you can find yourself in drama
- I would hear washing machines humming all the time because they wash outside and hang to dry normally, some people use dryers though
- most buses I have been on have a nice breeze from the windows, but if you know it will have an AC, dress in layers

Costa Rica in 30 secs except I didn’t include:

🦋 my carryon was too big and had to get checked
🦋 I didn’t realize I had to get it during my layover and it got left behind
🦋 I wasn’t able to style my hair as planned
🦋 I felt like I was playing catch up from the time I got deported to the day of
🦋 how stressed I felt being responsible for several humans out of the country
🦋 how many hours I (and my cohosts) put into bringing this trip to life
🦋 my face breaking out
🦋 the wildest tubing and horseback riding experiences I ever had
🦋 my friend Vera who took most of the footage
🦋 how much it really was worth it
