In the Kitchen with @freshhotpizza1

Fresh Hot Pizza started with an Instagram account, a date in the diary and an idea that had been sitting in James’ head for years. What followed were countless pop-ups, a growing community of regulars, and eventually a permanent home inside neighbourhood pub ‘The Fox’ in East London.

Their philosophy is simple: keep the menu small, use the very best ingredients you can find, and do a handful of things exceptionally well. As James puts it: “Do six things and nail them.”

We spent an afternoon with James and Róisín talking about building something from scratch, designing a kitchen around the way they work, why pizza belongs in the pub, and how the best ideas are often the simplest ones.

FOOTBALL CRAZY. PIZZA MAD.

To celebrate the start of the World Cup this evening, we’re launching a new series of specials for the duration of the tournament.

Kicking off with Mexico, one of the host nations. Slow cooked pork shoulder, crisped up over fried corn tortillas in our house made salsa roja, finished with queso fresco and jalapeños 🇲🇽

On Sunday 31st May, we are delighted to have @slaterchef in the kitchen, bringing his ‘British Carbonara’ special to the menu for one day, and one day only!

Half the pub is reserved for walk-ins all day, and you can also book a table via @thefoxhackney . Bookings don’t guarantee a pizza, and they are on a first come, first served basis. by @freshhotpizza1
