One of the most amazing and magical paths I've ever walked is the Gorge Trail at Watkins Glen State Park, NY, and my favorite spot on the trail was here, at Rainbow Falls, where the path is shrouded by a curtain of falling water.

My first post in a while, after having a broken computer screen, having been away, and just busy in general. Here's a sunrise from Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. This was my first trip to the state, and to the Rockies in general, and I was blown away by both the beauty and the scale of the landscape. Not to take away from the beauty of New England, but the way some of the ranges I saw rose straight up many thousands of feet above a completely flat plain took my breath away. I will say however, that as far as fall color is concerned, New England wins, hands-down! taken in Colorado, USA by @freshlycaught

The snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland is full of beauty and wonders at every turn. I loved this charming, colorful old hut I found while wandering around on my first day exploring the place. Standing there I felt as if I was actually in a landscape painting. Happy National Lighthouse Day! Here's my favorite lighthouse location that I've ever visited: the magnificent Heceta Head light on the Oregon coast. This spot has everything- rocky cliffs, a sandy beach, a beautiful arched highway over a river where it meets the sea, and of course the light itself, which is well worth a visit on its own. My only regret about the place with that I didn't get to stay longer. Thankfully, the one evening I did get to spend there was gorgeous and peaceful. I had the place all to myself.

Here's one of those ultra-vibrant sunsets that I'm afraid to post, because I think nobody would believe it really looked like that. Well, this one did. I shot it in my neighborhood one random evening when on a whim I thought I'd go down to the harbor to see what the sky was doing. The best way to get lots of amazing photos is to just get out as much as possible. You've got to be in it to win it.

My favorite beach that I've ever visited is at Stokksnes- the spectacular expanse of black sand in the shadow of Vestrahorn Mountain in Iceland. Here's a shot from an incredible hour of shooting I had there one evening when the weather went from dead calm and sunny to driving rain and gale-force winds, followed by a rainbow and topped off with a golden sunset. For scale, if you look closely in the lower right there's a person standing on the beach, dwarfed by the mountain

Highlights from my recent trip to New York's Letchworth State Park. On my last morning there I was lucky enough to get a shot of the train going over the bridge with a rainbow. It had been 5 years since my first visit to the park, and it was as beautiful as I remembered it to be.

My first Utah sunrise, shot near Moab last March. I'd wanted to visit the arches and canyonlands of that beautiful state since I was a kid, and was thrilled to finally get to see the region in person.

Happy Pride Month!🌈 In the spirt of Pride month here are a few shots from my recent trip to the spectacular Letchworth State Park in upstate New York. I was lucky to catch a sunrise balloon launch by Baloons Over Letchworth, who offer hot air balloon trips over the park. I was amazed how the pilot dropped the balloon into the gorge right down to the river with precision, and so fast it was difficult to capture more than a few photographs until the balloon dropped so low that was out of sight from my vantage point at the edge, 600 feet from the bottom.
