A behind-the-scenes look at the full pre-sprouting process for ranunculus on our saltwater farm in Maine 🌱

These steps happen in winter so plants are strong and ready for bouquets when spring arrives — from soaking and soil prep to a carefully controlled cold rest. All of this takes place months before a single bloom appears.

As we prepare to head North for the 50th annual @commongroundcountryfair, we’re taking a look back at last year’s setup! Flowers, honey, herbal teas and a whole lot of farm goods are getting ready to make the trip to Unity with us next week.

Hundreds of dahlias make their way out of the fields each week, thanks to a pretty incredible farm crew. Somewhere between deliveries and everything else that keeps our Maine flower farm moving, owner Dan has been picking up his camera.
