Another year another Cambridge Botanic Garden date! 💕 This year we were blessed with lovely sunny weather, tiny moorhen chicks, and bloomin massive flowers! ☀️🌺🐦‍⬛

On a complete side note: Can you believe the strawberry tote bag I’m wearing here is the first big crochet project I ever made! I’ve never shared a photo of it here because the construction is… not the best so don’t expect any future close-ups 😅 but as a baby crocheter, I was so proud of it and rightfully so, because despite its flaws this bag has been loved and used pretty much every time I’ve left the house! I’ve learned a lot in the two years since I made this and I’m confident I could make a sturdier more polished strawberry tote 2.0 for this summer 🍓 taken in Cambridge University Botanic Garden by @freyfaerie

My beautiful yarn haul from my first time ever attending EAYF! I had such an amazing time on Sunday, there were so many talented creative people showcasing their amazing hand dyed yarns. I found it so hard to choose, but I settled on this lovely little selection to take home with me. Now it’s time to teach myself how to knit some socks! 🧦🧶

It’s finally cold enough for me to wear this cardigan I made a few months ago! 💕💜✨ I followed the samhradh cardigan pattern by @hey_carriex and I enjoyed making it so much that it took me less than a week to finish!

I used 2 strands held together of @jamescbrett shhh dk in the colour bramble and offset the colour shifts to create this cool mottled effect. The yarn I used is a wool acrylic blend so it’ll keep me warm and cozy all through autumn and winter!

Here’s a closer look at my most recent project that I am absolutely in love with🩷🤍 I got the idea to make it after seeing @emmacmakes daisy stitch tutorial. I just had to turn it into a summer cropped cardigan. I used @wendywoolss supreme cotton love dk yarn with a 4mm hook. Most of it was pretty straightforward as I was just making rectangles but the decreases towards the centre of the front panels are what I’m most proud of! It took me a few attempts and lots of frogging to get it just right but I’m so happy with the finished outcome.

I am definitely going to be making this in another colour hopefully before the end of summer so I can actually use it 😅 I think a sage green would be so pretty, but I might try a 100% cotton yarn next time as I can see the acrylic in the blend overheating me a little in the summer heat. So, this pink one is a little more appropriate for the cooler summer days and evenings. It’s still super soft and comfy though and a new staple in my wardrobe!

This was a bolero I made just over a month ago, I wasn’t wearing it much so I thought I’d try to make it into something I would wear more and what better way to do that than with bows! swipe to the end to see me wearing it to an art exhibition before I made the alterations!

Freshly picked strawberries and raspberries 🍓🩷

These little play food berries were my first ever commission for one of my mum’s lovely friends. I had a great time making them and I hope her daughters have just as much fun playing with them!

A little bandana for my little cat Tessa 🐈‍⬛ She refused to model it for me but that’s okay, maybe she will be up for the job another day when she’s not so busy napping 💤
