Meet the newest addition to our Nelson team, Andrew! 🌟

Andrew is our new social media content creator, developing and producing everything from quick-read blogs to 10-minute YouTube extravaganzas - all aimed at taking Fribesco to the next level! 🎥✨

Outside of creating content, Andrew brings plenty of unique character to the team. Fun fact: he could bench 140kg at one point in his life! 🏋️‍♂️ He’s also semi-fluent in Japanese (Nihongo), takes visual inspiration from YouTube filmmaker Sleepy Charlie, and loves that feeling when a video renders exactly as planned.

When asked what motivated him to join, Andrew shared that the role called out to him "like a guardian angel in the mist." He loves the irony of being one of the Kiwi locals working at a company founded and operating right here in NZ, while tapping into the deep German engineering expertise and wisdom our team brings to the trade. 🇩🇪🇳🇿

We are so excited to have his creative energy on board!

Drop a comment below to give Andrew a warm welcome to the Fribesco family. 👇✨

The last details on a standing seam roof are often the ones that go wrong first.

Accurate cuts around penetrations, and the flashings that keep the roof space dry.

Curved and mini snips give the control to cut clean lines around curves and awkward angles, so detail work matches the quality of the main run. Stubai Curved Tin Snips are ideal for getting clean and controlled circular cuts, with induction-hardened blades made from durable C60 carbon steel.

The Stubai Micro Combination Tin Snips offer the best performance for small spaces, tight corners, or that tricky corner.

Perforated flashings do the less visible job - letting air move through the roof space to reduce the condensation that quietly grows mould, rotting the framing from the inside. While still shedding wind-driven rain on the outside.

Small components, real consequences: clean cuts and proper ventilation are what keep a good roof good for the long run.

🖤 Perfecting Your Standing Seam Finish
An Angled Standing Seam Cladding system is essential. Every tool, every technique, and every stage of installation either builds on the last or undermines it. The finish - the clean lines, the secure seams, the flawless surface - isn't just about appearance. It's the visible proof of a job done right. It's what tells a client their investment was sound and what keeps your reputation solid for years to come.

Head To Head. Martin Vs Patrick. Battle between the snips!

Standard snips are great on open sheet, but once you're working between folds or into a corner, the long handles and straight blades just run out of room. Curved snips follow the radius without fighting you, and the mini snips get right into the bottom of the corner where nothing else fits. The result is a cleaner cut, less marks, and less time spent fixing the edge after.

The right tool for the space you're working in makes all the difference, and a good pair looked after properly will be doing these cuts for years.
