Climbing shoe resole & cobbling services in South Lake Tahoe, CA

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Fun fact: We hand make every last we use. Yes, it’s a lot of work, so why go this route instead of buying pre-made?

Well, aside from the meditative benefits of woodworking…it’s really about control. Custom lasts give us the most control over bonding, fit, and shape, and therefore the overall quality of the finished product. This also gives us the flexibility to make slight adjustments to a shoe’s aggression, so your shoes can work better for you. by @friction_fix_resoles

If you’re curious about how our work holds up to a season of abuse, here you go! We’ve officially been in business long enough that one of our early resoles has seen a summer of climbing and is back for fresh rubber.

Zero delamination and the scarf joint on the bottom is still nearly invisible 👌 by @friction_fix_resoles

Wondering how to get your shoes to us for a repair? 🤔
While we’re working hard to get drop boxes in local gyms (Blue Granite coming soon!), we’re happy to work with you to find a convenient option in the meantime! Shoot us a DM or an email and we’ll figure it out.
Current options include:
- Mail
- Meeting up somewhere local in SLT
- Swinging them by the shop
Hoping for a drop boxes somewhere in particular? Let us know! by @friction_fix_resoles

Here’s a fun one! This customer wears a size 15 street shoe and gets very limited life and performance from their climbing shoes. We collaborated with them to learn about how their shoes tend to fail and where they find performance lacking, and came up with a few unique upgrades for this pair.

The result:
- Harvested a heel they really like from another pair of shoes
- Slingshot rand replaced with thicker material
- Changed the shape of the sole to connect across the arch
- Thicker sole rubber to add more support and help retain shape for longer.

If you run into unique issues with your shoes, or have been turned away by other resolers who don’t want to take on a more involved repair - let us know! One benefit of having an engineer resole your shoes is that they really love solving problems. by @friction_fix_resoles

Full rand replacement on these TC Pros. We commonly see significant rand wear and peeling on TC Pros due to the unique demands of crack climbing. Trusting yours with a resoler who understands what you’ll put them through and will go the extra mile to ensure the best possible glue bond is key to getting the most life out of your shoes and resole. by @friction_fix_resoles

Fresh edges for these Instinct VSRs! These are on their 3rd resole but have never had a toe cap or rand repair. Soft rubber doesn’t have to equal a short life for your shoes 😉 by @friction_fix_resoles
