POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Seven years ago, at an emergency rally organized in response to the Trump administration’s repealing of trans youth student guidelines and rights in public schools, I had the privilege of standing with my community at the top steps of SF’s City Hall advocating for a better further for trans youth and for the harm towards the trans community to stop. Despite grim circumstances, it was the most connected I felt to a community, a city, and a collective fight to demand justice for lives deemed disposable.

For the past year, I’ve been reckoning with the activist inside me, the part of me that became exhausted after years of working in the nonprofit industrial complex, the part of me that has witnessed the genocide of thousands of Palestinians and the Arab diaspora, and I’ve began to ask why I repressed that person. After Tuesday, I’ve been finding myself at a crisis. A crisis of reawakening that part of me vs a path a of self-fulfillment and what feels like meaningless work in the one of the most toxic industries on this planet, the music industry.

I’ve been navigating possibilities and dreams for how these parts of me can intersect supported by the skills I’m learning in grad school along with a number of loving individuals who I’ve met through it. I think a lot about how my rage and empathy for social equity and passion and ambition around music would create an impact towards a just society, no matter the size. And it’s been hard. It’s hard when you receive messages from industry professionals saying “don’t be political cause you won’t get hired” or when the rhetoric going around in a Zionist and patriarchal industry dismisses oppressed communities in favor of capitalistic interests. I trust that I’ll figure it out.

In the meantime I do have to say: YOUR impact and what you choose to do moving forward also means a lot. For starters, pick your battles wisely and stop infighting if that’s you. Educate through effective means like organizing and political education. And for those of you gaslighting us in fear for our collective future, I offer you hope that you will soon see the reality of harm and how in the end that harm is eventually perpetrated towards you. taken in Earth by @fridafeels

🇵🇸 DJS AGAINST APARTHEID 🇵🇸

With over 500 DJs standing in solidarity with Palestine & their right to resist a brutal 75 year occupation, we are honored to witness the growth of the movement of DJs fighting for a free Palestine.

🎛️ We understand the radical history and legacy of dance music. Our scene was founded by queer, Black, and Brown people with the clear intention to uplift the marginalized. These spaces were explicitly rooted in love, liberation, and resistance. The dance music scene has always been and must continue to be centered around imagining and creating a safer, fairer, and freer world for all people.

✊ We commit to using our platforms, our art and our spaces as tools of liberation. We commit to fight alongside the Palestinian people in the struggle for sovereignty, dignity, and self-determination.

🖤 DJs, producers, collectives, promoters, parties, clubs, festivals, radio stations, and nightlife workers, join us in standing firmly on the right side of history. This must end. Free Palestine.

SHOT DAY (10.10.2026, 8PM-12AM) is a party, a journey, a ritual, and an experience, open to all who embrace polymorphism and the ability to change. Featuring an all-trans lineup, SHOT DAY summons four San Diego DJs exploring the ideas of metamorphosis and transmogrification through dance music. Come ready to sweat out inhibition and be reborn in a cocoon of movement.
In keeping with the spirit of community, all the proceeds from SHOT DAY will be going directly to the Transgender Health & Wellness Center, a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit operating across Southern California and the largest Trans-led organization in the country.

Sliding scale, $5 - $10 suggested donation, but feel free to open those coffers and #FundTheDolls!
