Today is #NationalCommunityCatDay! 🐈

The goal of our TNVR program is to help humanely reduce the outdoor cat population through spaying/neutering while ensuring community cats are protected from deadly environmental diseases by administering vaccinations before they are returned to their outdoor homes to live their lives.

Our TNVR program is a donation-based system. We want to help outdoor cats as much as we can, and we are so grateful for financial support from the community that helps us help these cats.

You can help community cats by donating using the link in our bio or here: www.friendsofstrays.org/donate! 💚💙

If you are unable to donate but would like to get involved, you can apply to become a TNVR volunteer by emailing meownow@friendsofstrays.org! 🐈🐈‍⬛ by @friendsofstrays

Add a cup of sweetness, a dash of goofiness, and a splash of cuddliness, and you've got the purrfect recipe for your own Bakery! 🧁

Bakery, a 1-year-old culinary cutie, knows the recipe for the most delectable pastries. She loves to knead her dough and make biscuits whenever she receives pets and attention from her customers. Her life’s passion is to feed her future adopter’s heart and soul with love and endless devotion. 🍞💛

Bakery is a momma cat whose babies have already been adopted by adoring families. She’s now waiting patiently for her baking timer to go off for it to be her time to be adopted. ⏲️💚

If you’re looking for a girl who has a personality sweeter than the most delicious chocolate cake, look no further than Bakery! 🍫🎂

🐾We’re open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for adoptions. 🐾

Get in there (the Cat Box)🎵 to adopt Sully!

While 6-month-old Sully is a wonderful dancer 🪩, his wobble is believed to be caused by mild ataxia (lack of coordination or unsteady movements).

At the time, Sully is displaying a normal quality of life and does not appear to be significantly affected by his condition, and he is able to perform all normal activities without apparent limitations. 💛

Sully is still able to play with all his favorite toys and is able to make his way over to you for his favorite activity: receiving endless pets and affection!😻

Sully loves to sleep in the comfiest cat beds but would prefer you keep them low to the ground so he can easily get in and out.

Future adopters should be aware he may experience challenges while jumping onto or down from surfaces like your couch, bed, or stairs. We recommend minimizing access to excessive heights to keep Sully happy and comfortable.

Sully can’t wait to get his butt moving into the car to go home with you! 🐈‍⬛

🐾We’re open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for adoptions.🐾

October is #nationaladoptadogmonth, which was launched to inspire families to adopt a dog from a local shelter or rescue organization.

In honor of this initiative, we are offering free crates or carriers with every dog adoption this week from October 14-18.💙

Update: the dogs pictured here have been adopted! Stingray (11-months-old) and Bill and Ted (1-year-olds) are waiting for their future family to come in and meet them.

Stingray is a playful pup who loves squeaky toys, going on walks, and meeting new friends. 🐕💛

Bill and Ted are ready for more excellent adventures with you, whether that’s exploring new places around St. Pete or staying in and partying on with you for game nights. 🎸🐎

🐾We’re open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for adoptions.🐾

Don't let the RBF fool you; Wilma is a very loving girl who only looks like she's plotting your demise. 😇

This 3-year-old may appear like she's actively judging you, but in reality she is just waiting patiently for you to engage in her favorite activities: giving her pets, feeding her treats, and telling her she is the most gorgeous girl in the world (it's the truth). 🪞💚

Wilma has been at our shelter since June. When she arrived at Friends of Strays, she was severely dehydrated and underweight. After some bloodwork, it was determined Wilma had FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), a life-threatening infection caused when a virus called feline coronavirus mutates within an individual cat to attack its body's defenses. She is now feeling like her happy and healthy self again after undergoing the 84-day medical treatment course to eradicate the virus.

Wilma is ready to go home with her adoptive family, and while she may not judge you for any of your habits, she would judge another cat in the house and therefore would like to be the only resident cat.

Come in and meet Wilma. Although she may not look like it, she will be happy to see you! 💛😻

💚We’re open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for adoptions.
