WE DID IT YALLLLLLLL 🤩🤯🌈💪✨

Thanks to absolutely EVERYONE who came out here week after week to make this wild build happen...we truly couldn't have done this without community support😭🙏 as of Sunday, the hyper-adobe portion of the walls we've been building for the past year is COMPLETELY DONE!!!!!!!!

EPIC DAY ON THE WALLS YESTERDAY YALLLLLL 🤩 We are getting SO close to being up to the tops of our door and window forms, which is a real milestone moment where-in we begin figuring out how to set our bond beam on top of the walls AND THEN begin prep for putting the freaking roof on this thing!!!!! 💪

We cannot thank everyone enough for showing up in such force and solidarity to help us finish the walls with a bang!!!! ✨

MUCH love to each and every one of you who's come out over the past year, we are just a few weeks away from actually being DONE with the walls!!!! So mind blowing 🤯 we couldn't have done all this without the help of our incredible community showing up time and time again 🙏❤️

PS we're taking tmrw off to rest a bit and focus on wheel window frame #2 and will resume wed/fri/sun open workshops thru April into May til we're done !! Dm if interested 🐝🐝🐝 by @friendtern

✨ Dear ones 🤗 ITS FULLY SPRING TIME!!! 🌱
As such we are in full swing planning a BIG build push for all of April in the hopes of FINISHING our Hyper-Adobe walls on the new artist residency build 💪

SO, if you've ever felt inspired to come out and help volunteer and/or learn the Hyper-Adobe process with us check out the dates and hit the DMs with an RSVP 🌈 ALSO if there's any other dates you could make it that aren't on our schedule, let us know and we might be able to accommodate!

Howdeee Grandma Gang!!! 🤗 It's a glorious spring bustling out here on the artist residency build this spring already 🤩🌱💪 it's been an absolute treat having such a lovely stream of friends coming through to help us chip away at our goal of finishing the Hyper-Adobe walls this spring WAHOOOO!!! Such progress!!!

We got our beautiful wagon wheel window all installed and set into the walls, and starting to round the corner on only 10 layers of bag remaining to finish the walls by our completion goal of May 7th! Very very exciting 🥰🌈🙌

We are continuing our schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays moving forward into March, so if anyone feels like coming out to volunteer with us, we will be doing Hyper-Adobe workshops (open to the public - DM to RSVP) every week until the walls are done this Spring!!

We will be posting an info-graphic flier shortly with all the calendar dates, but feel free to DM if you can make any of those days OR if you have other days you're interested in coming out, we can definitely setup work-party days for folks with particular scheduling needs.

Love y'all SO much and cant beam our gratitude brightly enough 😍 to express how held and supported we feel by our whole community at this momentous chapter of the Artist Residency build process.. absolutely could not do this without each and every one of you. Howdee Grandmatopia Gang!! 🤩✨ The weather is absolutely gorgeous out here in Dragoon this week..and as a result we've been firing things up on the artist residency build 🤩 adding some rough-in window forms, a new wagon wheel window 🛞 and several new wall sections!! ✨

🦆 It's all feeling very exciting!! ✨ As such we're gonna be doing a few work parties this week, as well as ramping up to a regular schedule of open workshop days to anyone interested in helping out on the community build and learning the hyper-adobe construction process! 🤗

Please DM if interested in coming out to the land and getting your hands dirty with us for any of the follow dates :

⛵ Howdy Grandmatopia Friendship Community! 🤗 DM if interested in hopping aboard for a series of natural building workshops this winter. Volunteering with friendly folks, these drop-in courses will be an immersion in Hyper-Adobe and earthen building practices...working together to build the walls of our lovely little Artist Residency, one day to host aspiring artists for years to come! ...yummy shared meals provided as well 😂 (potluck welcome!) 🤙❤️

Artist Residency Construction Update!!!

This is a throwback to the spring when we were BLESSED to have Bill Croell (of Croell Redi-mix) the concrete whisperer, who generously flew ALLLL the way down from Iowa just to teach us the ropes on how to pour this large concrete slab for the upcoming artist residency space.

Bill (father of our dearest pal @chickentincture) is one of the most knowledgeable and down to earth folks we've had the pleasure to bring out to Grandmatopia. We are forever in his debt, as well as @chickentincture and @spencerjharding for arranging the whole thing and coming out to help us shovel concrete at 5am on the pour day. All of ya'll are actual living angels!!!
❤️😇🙌❤️

This HUGE step marks a pivotal point in our construction, wherein now we can focus completely on finishing the Hyper-Adobe walls, and hopefully even the roof by early next year.

More to come on that regarding upcoming Hyper-Adobe workshop parties once the heat of the Arizona summer melts away into the big cool-down of the coming fall.

It's weird to stand at your own grave, but it's novel that, in the 35 years since first confronting my mortality here at the rural Iowa family plot during my little brother's funeral, I finally got to peer into it.
