Aimee Rose Zawitz leader, main choreographer, and mastermind behind the @friscorockaz .
.
Aimee is Bay Area’s Dancehall Queen 2017 and has choreographed, open live shows, and/or danced for such noteworthy artists such as Too $hort, Kes, Steel Pulse, Demarco, Israel Vibration, Cham, Alborosie, LosRakas, MJs Brass Boppers, RemyRED, ChrisMartin, Macka💎, RedBarat, KassaOverall, Guerrilla Sound System, Bayonics and others.

Aimee has performed in SumFest, SNWMF, RoR, and literally all over the Bay Area and beyond

Aimee is passionate about Jamaican Dancehall and Dancehall culture. She listened to and enjoyed Reggae and Dancehall music for most of her life but didn’t know there was a dance style until her friend Charlotte Nehm introduced it to her in 2013. From then on she became obsessed. Like many other international Dancehall dancers, the music and the movement spoke to her soul in a way that was so natural and the hunger to understand and learn more about the dance and culture, insatiable (still!!). As foreign dancers like to think “Dancehall found us, we didn’t look for Dancehall.” It’s a life path we had to take with no choice.
.
Since 2013, Aimee has extensively traveled back and forth to Jamaica and now teaches several Dancehall classes per week @tropicalidancehall , leads guided trips to Jamaica @bay2ja_dancehallcamp , hosts workshops for Jamaican and international Dancehall dancers, and throws parties and other Dancehall events with local DJs here in the Bay Area.
.
