Another open gardens weekend at Hampton Court Palace meant another plein air painting in the grounds for me. I love this place!

I had a very enjoyable day in the sunshine at Syon Park with my friends from @londonsocialeasel yesterday. Watercolour plein air in the morning, then a guided tour of the house in the afternoon.

The Dachshund Family (2026)
Oil on canvas, 60x40cm

I finally finished my painting of Bennie, Frankie, Bluey and Bobby for their human family and presented it to their dad, Rob today. I started it a couple of months ago, from two photos Rob sent me and really enjoyed looking at their cute little faces. Thanks to my unofficial agent/publicist, @lesleyannebower !

Twickenham Art Circle has gone back indoors for the winter, starting with a harvest themed still life. I haven’t done any still life drawing for ages, so it was surprisingly challenging, but good to practice.

Hercules trying to make his cat swallow a pill.
Another wonderful plein air day at Hampton Court Palace open gardens. The weather/light was constantly changing, but it seems summer isn’t over just yet.

Self Portrait at Home (2026)
Oil on canvas, 16”x20”
This was based on a five year old photo, so I now have even more ornaments and pictures behind me! The Monstera has grown too. Aside from that, this is where I spend a lot of time 😄

The Lion Terrace & 1665 Brasserie at The Mitre, Hampton Court.
London Plen Air went to East Molesey today and encountered rain for the first time in months! But also sun, wind, cloud and heat.

Plein air painting at Chiswick House again today. This is one of my favourite venues and there are still so many more scenes I want to paint here.

Added a bit more detail to my Brighton Pavilion painting. Ideally I’d make the sky a deeper blue, but I’ve learnt from experience that would ruin it!

I had a lovely day in Brighton with the @londonsocialeasel today. It was great to be at the seaside on one of the hottest days of the year.
