Kids Halloween done! But they won't consent to pics.

They wanted to be nearly the same thing, so material-wise there was a good bit of overlap. Developing patterns for each, however, they had different demands. Both required that their backpacks be usable for school, so a lightweight fleece construction wasn't gonna cut it.

I think I made 4-6 mockups of each hood before I committed to a final design.

Starting to feel like Halloween. 👻 🎃 by @froglegscraftworks

Been busy with a lot of stuff overall, but jumped back into an old project this week. Feeling good about the tests so far!

Have I been in hiding? Not really, but maybe. But I've also been busy.
I've always been a fan of ceramics and ceramicists. 8 or 10 months ago I kind of fell off the deep end in learning about ceramics (probably about the same time as @jimmydiresta.) I found the YouTube videos of @vantiki, learned about slipcasting, and began my craigslist hunt for a kiln.
After about 6 months of pursuit of used kilns, I was able to find one for a decent price. Then the real adventure began.
This first design was created in fusion 360 and 3d printed. I made a couple plaster molds (one was good, the other not so great.) I've cast 21 cups so far, fired and glazed these 15. I'm extremely happy with how they've turned out. I have a few other projects that I'm also excited about in various states right now.
I've also been doing a bit of woodworking, but the ceramics have taken over the shop lately. by @froglegscraftworks

While this is a matter "but of course you can" to a lot of people, it was a breakthrough for me. A couple of days ago I was running a tap into 3d printed objects. This morning I was thinking I should be able to print the threads directly, and I was right. After 4 iterations trying different scaling, I was able to get the depth I wanted. (These are NPT threads, meaning they have tapered walls.) Afterward I saw that there is a whole thread library on Thingiverse for 3d printing, but hey, i think I would have still needed to mess with the scale. by @froglegscraftworks

Its not my first dark mark engraving, but this one is definitely bigger and better. First piece made specifically for Etsy. 24x11 solid mahogany, finished with shellac and wax and recesses hand painted with a super-matte black acrylic paint. by @froglegscraftworks

11-1/2" wide mahogany, but no 12" jointer. CNC flatten that sucker! by @froglegscraftworks

Jumped into a 3d printer for the first time. After printing a pile of 3d Benchys and a few other little things for the kids over the past couple of weeks, I printed the first object of my own modeling this morning. A few minutes on the computer and a couple hours of print time and I've got this bracket for wall mounting the raspberry pi that controls my cnc router. I put a roof on it so dust stays out of the sd card slot opening on top. Pretty slick and a perfect fit.

Diamond stone box, milled from King Starboard. For my dad for father's day- he needed a level up from his inch and a half wide Arkansas stone. Now I need a level up.

Not final, but close. Prototyping diamond plate holders. First time milling hdpe (like butter), first time using vacuum clamps, first time pushing a 1/2" endmill, and first time running CAM in fusion 360. All in all happy with the results.

In some moments between Twitter marathons in the past few days, I've been designing a typeface, or at least the number set to start. 60's inspired and designed to be both outside and/or inside perimeter cut with a 1/4" endmill at 5" tall. Calling it seahorse for now.

Started banging out prototypes for a custom mask to fit my bearded face some time ago. Probably made 10 of them. I stopped wearing all cloth because of fogging glasses, and went with my RZ. Well, with the exhaust ports being frowned upon, I went back to one of my last protos, but the Harley Quinn red/blue was a bit hard to look at. Finally made one this morning that I feel ok wearing to Whole Foods.
