Happy Plant Friday! 🌿

My Monstera Thai Constellation just keeps pushing out new leaves! It’s amazing how much it has grown over the summer, and the leaves are getting bigger too.

I love seeing it thrive and can’t wait to see how much bigger it gets. Definitely one of my favourite plants in the collection!

What’s blooming on the allotment? 🌸

Autumn is definitely here, but there’s still plenty of colour on the allotment! The amaranthus, sunflowers, snapdragons, Mexican sunflowers, hollyhocks and statice are all still blooming. 🌻

It’s lovely to see so many flowers carrying on despite the change in season. I’m enjoying every last bloom while they’re still here! 🍂🌼

Happy Tomato Tuesday! 🍅

The last tomato harvest of the year! 🍂 The weather has turned properly autumnal, so I’ve picked all the tomatoes left on the plants, including the green ones. Hopefully, they’ll ripen indoors — and if not, I still have that fantastic green tomato curry recipe I discovered last year! 😋

I’ve now pulled out the plants and removed the bamboo supports, so that’s a wrap on this year’s tomato season. Time to enjoy the last of the harvest and start dreaming about which varieties to grow next year! 🌱🍅

Dahlia ‘Bodacious’… probably!

I got this one from my family as a tuber without a name tag, I’m fairly sure it’s ‘Bodacious’ — but I guess I’ll never know for certain! 😅

It has been one of my most prolific bloomers this year, starting early and flowering continuously through the summer. I also love how the colours change with the season — more yellow in summer, while the autumn flowers are becoming much more orange.

And the vase life is pretty impressive too. Whatever the name, it’s definitely earned a permanent place in my cutting garden!

Pumpkin harvest 🎃

I’ve finally harvested our pumpkins! Most of them are staying in the shed, but I brought these two home along with a colourful mix of chillies, tomatoes and cucumbers. 🌶️🍅

And of course, I couldn’t leave the sunflowers behind! 🌻 A little bit of the allotment harvest brought indoors to enjoy as autumn settles in. 🍂

This week’s bouquet 🍂💐

Definitely an autumnal one this week! 🍁 The dahlias are still putting on a show, joined by scabiosa, Rudbeckia ‘Sahara’, Sweet William, snapdragons and scented-leaf pelargoniums for greenery.

I love the mix of warm oranges, burgundies, pinks and berries — a little snapshot of the allotment as we head deeper into autumn. 🧡🌿

Happy Plant Friday! 🌿

My Monstera adansonii is really starting to size up on the moss pole, and I’m loving the larger leaves and all those gorgeous fenestrations!

It’s so satisfying to see how much the leaves change as the plant matures. I can’t wait to see how big it gets!

Dahlia ‘Sweet Natalie’ 🌸

One of my absolute favourites! ‘Sweet Natalie’ has been such a beautiful dahlia in the cutting garden, with those soft blush-pink and creamy tones that seem to glow as the flower opens.

It’s one of those varieties I can never get enough of — beautiful in the garden, gorgeous in a vase, and definitely one I’ll be growing again next year. 🌸🤍

Happy Tomato Tuesday! 🍅

More tomatoes harvested this weekend! The season is definitely coming to an end now, with only a few fruits left on some of the plants.

The weather is still so warm and dry in London that we’ve been lucky enough to avoid blight this year. I’m definitely going to miss heading to the allotment and coming home with another basket of tomatoes!

There are only a few plants left with fruits on them now, so let’s see how long I can keep the season going.

Dahlia ‘Molly Raven’

‘Molly Raven’ has such a gorgeous deep, moody colour. The rich burgundy petals make it really stand out in the cutting garden, especially alongside the softer pinks and oranges.

Another one I’m very happy to have growing this year!

This week’s bouquet 💐

Dahlias are definitely taking centre stage! 🌸 This week’s mix is Sweet Natalie, Mango Madness, Cornel Bronze and Night Silence, with statice and scented-leaf pelargoniums adding texture and greenery.

I love how the soft pinks, oranges, bronze and darker tones come together — a little taste of autumn in a vase.

Happy Plant Friday! 🌿

On my visit to RHS Wisley, I of course couldn’t resist the urge to buy some plants! 😂 I was actually quite good and only came home with two baby plants: Alocasia cuprea ‘Red’ and Philodendron ‘Snowdrift’.

I repotted them after bringing them home, and the Alocasia has already pushed out a new leaf that I’m completely obsessed with! 😍 The Snowdrift has some insane variegation and colouring too, so I’m very excited to grow both of these on and see how they develop. 🌱
