FIRE & BRIMSTONE IS FINALLY HERE 🖤🥀

“The mind is a powerful thing. Brute strength can build a bridge, but only the mind knows how to keep it from collapsing.” -Death/Mavet

Thank you to my beta readers, ARC readers, and @raistlynreadit for helping me make this possible! This book almost didn’t make it into the world. Now, I’m gonna shout it to the rooftops!!! Thank you to those who also preordered and supported me! I can’t wait to bring more adventures to life!

Brief Blurb:

Hours before the date of his dreams, a shy accountant is murdered by a pair of demons. Death offers him a choice to return to the mortal realm as a Reaper—but anyone who knows his true name can enslave his soul. When demons target the soul of the woman he loves most due to her bloodline, he must break his curse and she must embrace her legacy before they’re both sacrificed to shatter the gates of Hell.

Tropes:
🥀Masked MMC, Sweet but Lethal FMC
🥀Cinnamon Roll to “Touch Her & 💀”
🥀Reapers, Angels, Demons
🥀Gothic Beauty & the Beast vibes
🥀Yearning/Closed Door
🥀He falls first, and hard
🥀She wields a sword
🥀Dark Religious Themes

I love battle-hardened FMCs, but one thing I didn’t see enough in fantasy or film is that even if she can fight, or have a dark past, it’s like she’s not allowed to have any light left. ESPECIALLY for black women.

Too often, the media portrays us as sassy, bitter, confrontational, angry, alone (by choice or not). Or all the above.

But we have just as much depth and complexity as everyone else. We have SO much to offer.

With that being said, Cara Freeman is a representation of the other side of us that the media constantly ignores. I hope that when she reaches readers, she helps them feel seen.

NEW FMC DROP: Fenyx “Nyx” Wilder.

A Fighter. An Engineer. A Survivor. An Environmentalist. But above all else? No one messes with her loved ones.

And someone who says to the MMC: “When I’m finished with you, you’re gonna wish I k*lled you instead.”

Stay tuned 😎

The Sci-Fi & Fantasy Market at The Arcane Books and Speakeasy went really well! I LOVED the vibes in that bookstore, and their coffee was so amazing I had to get two.

Fire & Brimstone sold out but it will be returning! Signed copies of The Nightshades are currently available, wrapped and unwrapped!

Jenn and Deanna were so kind, it was an honor meeting you both and thank you so much for having me! @TheArcaneBookBar

"The Scene vs. The Words," pulled from Chapter 25 in my debut, The Nightshades. It is the point where the MMC, Draven, begins to think of the FMC in random settings but refuse to say it out loud to anyone, and his best friend, Caspian, is petty enough to point out that he knows he's up to something when Draven buys the girliest cupcake in the store.

FUN FACT: Caspian's character design (top panel) is lowkey based off of my cat, Thor 😅
