Purple cabbage prep with my @benchmadeknifecompany station knife. Slaw making paused cause I got distracted by the colors & textures. #benchmade #kitchen #knife #fromfieldtotable by @fromfieldtotable

The Strix Varia Buck - the biggest, oldest, stinkiest buck I’ve taken. Absolutely crazy morning, the most alive I’ve ever seen it. Started with a barred owl landing in the tree ten ft from me half an hour before shooting light. After he took off I looked up if seeing an owl was a good or bad omen. Half the cultures think it’s a good omen signifying, wisdom & intuition, and the other half think it’s bad, the bringer of death. I think they both got it right.

Last pic is why I hunt. Marsh Hen Mill yellow grits, over easy eggs & rutty buck blackstrap. Only ‘off’ flavor I’m picking up is a little iron from being rare.

Super fun story, with a ton more detail and interconnections, ask if you want the whole shebang. #whitetaildeerhunting by @fromfieldtotable

If you don’t pluck your ducks we can still be friends but I’ll question your taste.

Anyone grown white asparagus? Real curious to see if/how taste and texture are changed. #okayestcook by @fromfieldtotable

That unexpected moment when you are about to pack out but kneel down and take one last look under some foliage.
Thanks for hanging out @amandainindy! Next time we are going to cook them together before we leave. 👊🏼 by @fromfieldtotable
