If you know me, you know I'm not a musician, not professionally at least (but also not even an amateur, tbh). But I always wanted to output a song, or perhaps some songs, as a personal goal in life. To have it heard by many (for me) people, in different countries, is something I would never have imagined. I can only thanks @lidiascon because it is her absurd talented singing (recorded on a cheap smartphone, mind you!!!) that took these sounds around the world.

Thanks also to my art mentour and friend @maiavisual for having me invited to do a live set in 2017, from where the concept for this song came. ❤️ by @fromfutureimportdivision

Finally, after a month and a half (or maybe two years) of delay...
I've uploaded The Making of Animals live set, to SoundCloud (link in bio). Cover art (1st video) by @g.ambrozio_art

The whole idea was to create a sequence of loops that would easily modulate one into another. Each column in the DAW arrangement was a key, each row a type of loop. Adjacent columns follow the circle of fifths, starting from C minor, for a total of 10 of the 12 keys!

As the OVNI party had an "alien" theme, I've included samples that create a small story of alien invasion.

The original live set was in 140 BPM, and had live keyboard playing over the loops. I cut the keyboards for the uploaded version, and paced it up to 145 BPM. I hope some of you enjoy it. :)

The OVNI party was a one-off party at Alberta #3 bar in São Paulo, Brazil, created by visual artist @iammaiacaroline and multi-instrumentist and singer @anaritzz . It was probably the most significant musical experience I've ever been a part of. Additional music at that night was commanded by: @cvzzn, @gggfm_ & @pheliperomero

A small nod to São Paulo techno parties, and bits of intersections between Dm and Cm sections of The Making of Animals - as played live in rehearsal/tests for OVNI. by @fromfutureimportdivision

"Syncobass" was a part of the Gm section of The Making of Animals live at OVNI party in June 2019. It was created after talking with @anaritzz about syncopation in electronic, quantised, music.
