It Came From Hell X Pashur Illustration

✍️ Original Illustration and Pattern: @pashurillustration

🩸Glass work / Framing: oh hey that’s me

📸 @emiliaisoffline

This collaboration was my big dumb idea. I didn’t have any art direction but I knew if I just said - “let’s do a huge Xenomorph piece” Pashur would not only be excited about it but would take it to the subterranean level of magic land. We have collaborated on many projects over the years as our Alter Egos @horrorbodyart @monstersandsirens so it is very fitting it carried over into our solitary art projects. I have tabled this project for a very long time hoping to debut it at Midsummer Scream and this year is the year! August 7th -9th you can experience her in person. 12”x12” Prints are available in six color ways! I want to also say a special thank you to @decayedbrocade who gave up her Saturday to help me build displays, source materials, and workshop fabrication plans to free me up to finish this piece. Please come say hello to her Friday and tell her how cool she is. And with that, Happy @midsummerscream ! See you at booth 668❤️‍🔥 by @fromhellglass

They’re All Gonna Laugh At You 🩸

Re-watching Carrie to get this piece right was interesting because it dawned on me how this scene truly represented the 1976 idea of the American Dream. An underdog swept up in romance by Price (asshole) Charming, and taken to experience a great American past time. The Blonde-haired blue eyed Spacek in dress fit for a wedding day, on a backdrop of blue curtains, silver stars, and gold glitter. Then as her dreams are drenched in the final color of the flag, we watch her burn that dream (and everyone in it) to the ground. I ran into someone at Midsummer Scream who suggested Carrie as a riff on my Exorcist piece. Tag yourself when you see this!

🔪 Casey Becker 🩸 Surprise! Like a twist ending reveal of not ONE….. but TWO killers …. There are TWO number 8 pieces in my Women In Horror series. She is a companion piece but she also holds her own. Well. Sort of. Until Ghostface got her 😮‍💨. I hope you all have the best Halloween weekend. Just remember Randy’s rules; Never have seggs. Never drink or do drugs. And NEVER say “I’ll be right back”.

🔪 Tatum 🩸our “Women in Horror #8” . I know she’s not the obvious choice from the original Scream for this series but Sydney Prescott just doesn’t do it for me. As far as slasher kihls go - this is one of the more creative and @rosemcgowan costumes for Tatum are iconic. I grew up with this franchise and have a personal attachment to it. Fun fact if you’re new here - I am also a makeup artist and got to work on the @iceninekills video for Twisting The Knife for the Scream 7 soundtrack alongside @emiliawerynska ! I got to hang out with Jeremy Connor (Ghostface) all day on set and hear some wild filming stories. Stunts and I always end up each others emotional support humans at work 😅. What’s your favorite Scream 🔪?

🔪 Marion Crane 👁️

Our 7th Character from our women in horror series. Based on the 1960 original Psycho film (we can pretend the remake didn’t happen) This piece is equally split to represent Mrs. Bates, even if she is a figment of psychoses. The shower scene is one of the most iconic moments across the entire horror genre spanning over a century. The original was filmed in black and white to reduce audience shock from the gore at the time. This piece pulls from 4 important close up shots that made up the 78 camera setups in the scene; the shower, Mrs. Bates silhouette, Marion’s scream, and Marion’s open eye as she lays on the bathroom floor. Marions panels feature glow in the dark elements as a little surprise!

🌸 The May Queen 🐻

I almost didn’t do this one because the first time I watched this movie in theatre I hated it. I gave it another shot because you guys talked me into it 😅. With a whole different life perspective 7 years later, it blew me away in the best way. Dani begins the story in a submissive and placating position to the dominant and manipulative Christian, where it’s just Christians life and we’re all living in it. This quote from Christian, though about their slowly disappearing friends, really drives home how insignificant everyone else is outside of him. Some of the horror in this story comes directly from the relationship dynamics and wondering if given a choice … who’s going in the bear?

The May Queens dress is made with very very very tiny real pressed flowers between pea green and clear glass. The quote bar features blood splatter across the top and bottom as hidden elements and the doorway and window glass feature swells of fire colored pattern which was so hard to catch in a photograph. And of course - the bear.

Share her with a horror loving friend ❤️‍🔥 Who are we doing next? There’s 4 more Women in Horror pieces to go until Halloween!

🐦‍⬛ THE BIRDS 🦅 Our next woman in horror is Tippi Hedron as Melanie Daniels! The stories of the behind the scenes of the filming of this movie are cruel. I would like to say unusual, but I’ve seen some things behind the scenes over the last 22 years that make Hitchcock look like a sweet little Dove.

I found two things in my rewatch to be the most disturbing. The first - Cathy, shut up. Your loud crying is going to get everyone pecked!! The second - there is no way there are that many birds in town and all of Bodega Bay isn’t covered in bird shit. Especially with all the protein they’re getting. So I added that little detail to the hanging bar. In the movie Tippi is wearing Chanel but in glass she’s wearing the next best thing - @bullseyeglass.

They’re coming to get you Barbara 🧟‍♂️

Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 iconic zombie film that accidentally ended up as public domain because the original title Night of the Flesh Eaters was dropped in distribution and the original distributor didn’t include a copyright on the new title. They also never once mention the word “zombie” which adds to the mystery of what the monsters are.
If I could rename the movie, I would call it “Get It Together and Find Some Damn Shoes, Barbara!”

As the next piece in our women of horror series, I wanted this piece to be entirely greyscale, with some surprise hand details (swipe) that felt like low budget horror practical effects. During my rewatch I photographed and traced out one of my favorite Barbara moments, just before she meets Ben. This moment is a glaring example of how women are largely represented in this era of film - weak, helpless, and desperate. It’s been quite an eye opening experience going back in the horror film archive.

What “women in horror” character should I do next? by @fromhellglass

I Never Wanted To Be Your Mother 🔥

Our third women in horror art piece is inspired by the final scene in Ari Asters Hereditary. After a re-watch, this scene isn’t just occult ceremony - it’s the culmination of generations of forced female sacrifice to usher in a male vessel for Paimon. I chose this quote to guide the design not because of how harsh this moment is, but how quiet. The calm that comes with saying something you have always felt deep down but it’s dark and ugly and saying it will set you free. Even if that freedom is crawling up the walls in the dark. We don’t kink shame here. What was the scariest part of this movie for you?

The glass I chose for the treehouse slats is over 100 years old. I picked it because it has been handed down for generations. It feels historic and I couldn’t think of a better use for it. The Charlie idol is a little rotting stained glass head with brass crown. The hinged wood body features a hook in her back so you can easily move her off and on the piece. Thank you @natalie.3dblah for the suggestion because the rewatch was a great time.

🔈⏫ The relationship is symbiotic. Did you know 5-10% of people lack total inner monologue? Most people fall on the spectrum of “sometimes”. My inner monologue when I’m working is just one long series of reliving embarrassing conversations from childhood, psyching myself up to continue when I am on 0% battery, and telepathic transmissions of me telling that glass how it’s going to be. When glass screams it sounds like a goat, right? Weird. I wouldn’t want to be it and it wouldn’t want to be me , and I think that’s beautiful. by @fromhellglass

If a Xenomorph is made by two artists and nobody sees it, was it even made? And if your friends with (trusted) guys and they don’t give you insane answers to existential questions - are they even your friend?
