If you know, you know... by @fromleakygut

I wish it was a joke 😭
But when your gut is inflamed and out of balance, gas isn't just "air" - it's fermentation. No one warns you about the embarrassment part of gut issues.

If it feels familiar, you're not alone.

I healed when I started eating clean, lowered carbs and increased animal fats. Everything I was running away from all my life was actually what I needed. I grew up thinking that animal fats are bad, and everything plant based is good. But it's other way round. My gut is healthy now, and I can relax a bit and occasionally enjoy a glass of wine, some cake, and order whatever I want in the restaurant without worrying that I will explode in the toilet later.

I used to believe healing meant being strict forever. Turns out, healing is having margin.
Food doesn't control me anymore.

Most people treat anxiety as a problem in their mind. But the gut and brain are deeply connected.
When the gut microbiome is imbalanced and the gut lining is irritated, inflammatory byproducts can affect the nervous system - including mood, stress response and emotional regulation.

For many people, anxiety isn't random. It's a signal.

Healing the gut is addressing the root.

Safe this if it resonates 🌺

Not even one doctor suspected, that my anxiety could be linked to my gut. Not even one doctor suggested to look into my diet, check my food. I thought I was very ill. Little by little I was adding one more health problem to the list. Problems with kidneys, then eyes... then something else. Doctors were saying it's all in my head, or stuff I have are not serious (like cysts in my kidneys, or abnormal smear test). So I had to figure it out myself, and guess what - I did. I've experienced all of it and more. It's quite funny, but it's not, because when you have to live with it, it's extremely hard to navigate yourself in life and concentrate on things that actually matters. I am not there anymore, I have learnt to deal with it, I actually don't have these problems anymore, so if you're seeking for help or relief, follow for more and thank me later 😉

All my life I was unwell with one thing or another. I grew up eating lots of processed meats, everything was cooked on seed oils, and sugary treats were everyday luxury. In my 20s I was going out and partying a lot, and I experienced my 1st explosive diarrhea in public. Then it all began: food anxiety, constant worries about how to manage my gut, how to control bloating, gurgling and so on. I had my 1st colonoscopy, and it came back clear so I continued as I was until bad things that were happening in my gut started affecting everything else in my body: eyes, womb, kidneys, joints, mood, mental health. Then I found GAPS diet book and it changed how I see food forever.

When I read it I realised it's about me. I was broken and my gut was the focal point. So the sentence from the book sounds like this: "When digestive system is unwell, so instead of being a source of nourishment it becomes a major sourse of toxicity in the body, nothing in the body can function well".

Health issues I had were: very poor gut health, enlarged optic nerve in my eye, abnormalities in my smear test, very painful and very heavy periods, painful joints, cysts in my kidneys, anxiety, panic attacks, feeling weak and dizzy.
