Was it worth flying with 200lbs of gear? Absolutely.

A memorable morning in the wilderness- I’m missing this now that I’m back in Florida. I backpacked in the night before on a hike that seemed quite a bit longer than I expected and spent time looking around for a composition in the marshes and got drenched. I started a night timelapse then I pitched my tent and the fog was starting to roll in. I set a 4am wakeup and emerged from my tent to see the whole valley was in a dense fog and I was in a cloud. I met up with some friends who were day hiking in for sunrise and we found this perfect spot- we were just hoping the fog would clear a bit as the mountain was totally obscured. The fog finally started to clear as the sun came up to reveal this scene. Shot in infrared of course.

Alpenglow, glacial lakes, and infrared- it doesn’t get much better.

We started hiking at 2:30 AM to make it up in time for sunrise. This hike was definitely a challenge for me being out of practice and lugging camera gear with 2300 ft elevation gain in 4 miles, with the last section climbing steep boulder fields with no trail. All moving quickly keeping pace with @another_adventure_gram @tanner.price_ and @_bcphotos

Good times at Hamptons Fine Art Fair last month. Had been wanting to do a big fair since before I got serious about photography. Sold some art and met some great people. Looking forward to more and Art Miami coming up. by @frozen.spectrum

Deadvlei - infrared/multispectral

I haven’t shot a ton of infrared lately, and IR is really the root of my photography journey. I have been frustrated by technical limitations of available gear to create it in a quality up to my standards. No normal camera lenses are capable of creating sharp, high contrast, false color multispectral images.

This is using a specialty Schneider VIS-NIR corrected industrial lens on a GFX 100 IR. I am working on a new system to shoot infrared in even higher quality right now, which has never been achieved by anyone. I’m excited to explore this side of photography again. by @frozen.spectrum
