Freedom Road Socialist Organization is a revolutionary organization that is serious about real change. We work hard to build the international solidarity and anti-war movement. We are active in the trade unions, Black and Chicano liberation movements, and on many other fronts of the people's struggle. In all these fights we are clear — monopoly capitalism must go. The power of the billionaires must be broken and the working class needs to take things into our own hands. We need socialism.

Our basic strategy for revolution is building a united front against the monopoly capitalist class, under the leadership of the working class and its political party, with a strategic alliance between the multinational working class and the oppressed nationalities at the core of this united front.

If you are sick and tired of endless wars, vicious exploitation, and racist oppression, we urge you to join us.

The sun is setting on U.S. empire.

Seattle, WA – On Thursday, October 8, more than 150 people marched in Seattle as part of a National day of action to demand a stop to sexual violence. The event started with a rally at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building. Attendees wore “Hello, I am Jane Doe” stickers and called for the punishment of the Cornell 7 and all rapists.

The event was organized locally by the Gender Equity Movement, Seattle Handmaids, Seattle Indivisible, and Freedom Road Socialist Organization.

Justice for Jane Doe!
Convict the Cornell 7!

On October 8th, the people of Seattle took the streets to demand not only justice for Jane Doe, but to call for an end of oppression for women and LGTBQ people!

Meredith, a member of FRSO spoke to the gathered crowd. "We [women and LGBTQ people] will never achieve full equality under a system that profits from our oppression.

Capitalists have to explain this inequality and they do it with misogyny.

In this capitalist culture, we are less than full human beings.

Capitalism has no incentive to end discrimination against women and LGBTQ people when our subordination remains profitable.

We have to fight for something different: socialism

The Cuban Constitution guarantees women equal rights across economic, political, social, and family life. Crimes of violence against women, especially rape and sexual assault, are severely punished in Cuba.

Let’s fight for our equality,
our autonomy, and our safety!"

The FRSO was proud to march with our allies today and demand a stop to sexual violence. Together with Gender Equity Movement, Seattle Handmaids, the National Organization of Women, and Radical Women, we led hundreds in the streets showing that Seattle stands with Jane Doe and all survivors of sexual violence. Prosecute the Cornell 7, punish all rapists, and fight for a real end to women's oppression through socialism!

A crowd of mostly women gathered for the Stop Sexual Violence protest outside the Federal Building late Thursday evening with speeches, songs and a march through the downtown streets.

Speakers described the systemic failures of the courts to prosecute their rapists, how there aren’t enough people assigned to handle all the cases of rape and sexual assaults of minors and how not punishing rapists is how we ended up with a rapists for a president.

Weeks earlier the Cornell 7 case went viral sparking a major outcry for justice after it was leaked that the Chi Phi fraternity had a group chat offering “free pussy” to anyone in the chat after a Jane Doe was given ketamine and raped for hours while unconscious.

A handful of men showed up to the march with signs supporting women, or silently walking with their partners, one sign read “Men, it’s on us to end rape culture!”
