After three years of genocide and over 75 years of illegal Zionist occupation, the Palestinian people remain steadfast in their righteous struggle for self-determination, national liberation, and the right of return for all Palestinians. Those of us living in the U.S. have a duty and an obligation to also remain steadfast in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance. We must continue to cut the flow of material support for genocide through sustained divestment campaigns, boycotts, and shutting down ports, shipments, and manufacturing facilities for weapons and weapon components. We must continue to visibly resist the genocide through mass mobilisations in the streets. We must continue to organise and consolidate the masses, be disciplined in our work, and link and raise the Palestinian cause to our struggles here.

Tonight! FRSO Chicago is honored to host a report-back of activists who will be speaking about the Jaju Solidarity Delegation to Korea. The panel, includes esteemed comrade Chrisley Carpio of the FRSO Central Committee and Di Balitaan, solidarity officer of Anakbayan USA! The discussion will range from ongoing struggles to resist the U.S. military's imperial presence in South Korea, advances in the construction of socialism in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and an overall look at the fight for unification on the Korean peninsula.

Chicago IL – Over 150 students, faculty and community mobilized at the University of Illinois at Chicago Quad on Wednesday, September 23, to protest the UIC administration for inviting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to recruit at the Business Career Fair and to demand that UIC declare itself a sanctuary campus.

The protest, organized by Mexican Students de Aztlán (MeSA) with the support of multiple campus organizations, forced CBP to quietly withdraw from the event.

The action came after students received Handshake (a university jobs board) notifications inviting them to meet with border patrol recruiters at the career fair.

MeSA issued a call for the UIC community to demand that Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda, the UIC administration and the College of Business revoke the invitation and make a public statement to the community. Within hours, the administration shut down phone lines as students, staff and community members flooded the chancellor's office with calls and emails. CBP announced it would not attend, but the administration refused to formally revoke the invitation.

MeSA speakers made it very clear that CBP's backing out from the event was a victory won by student organizing. And that the administration is at fault for it.

“The only reason those pigs aren't here right now is because of our efforts, your efforts,” said Lupe Lara Guzman, a co-lead of MeSA's ERA Committee.

Guzman continued, “Chancellor Miranda was perfectly fine with their attendance as long as they followed proper guidelines. Chancellor Miranda: was CBP following proper guidelines when they murdered Silverio Villegas González last September? Or when they abducted two women off of our campus last October? Have they been following proper guidelines as they continue to terrorize our communities every single day? You cannot hide behind protocol, Chancellor Miranda. Your neutrality and silence is complicity. More than that, it is disgusting, morally abhorrent, and shameful.”

ATTENTION CHICAGO!!!! FRSO Chicago is honored to host a small panel of activists who will be speaking about the Jaju Solidarity Brigade to Korea. The panel includes FRSO Central Committee member comrade Chrisley Carpio, who was on the delegation. We’ll also have a representative of the organization AnakBayan Chicago. AnakBayan was also part of the solidarity brigade.

This was the first international delegation to ever join the annual National Liberation Day protest in South Korea, where they raised the demand: U.S. Out of Korea!
The context of the delegation includes the US plans for war on China, which involves Korea, Japan, and The Philippines.

You DON'T want to miss out! The discussion will range from ongoing struggles to resist the U.S. military's imperial presence in South Korea, advances in the construction of socialism in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and a look at the fight for unification on the Korean peninsula.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to commemorate the 1970 Chicano Moratorium. This year FRSO hosted a screening of the documentary "20 years y que?" on the 1990 Chicano Moratorium. After the screening a panel of Chicano activists on the ongoing importance of Chicano liberation. We want to thank the speakers from the Immigrant Rights Working Committee of @caarprnow along with the Brown Berets and community members who came out to share memories of the Chicano Moratorium and the historic Chicano struggle.
