This Saturday, we are pleased to invite you to a performance by Angelina Nonaj, marking the end of their residency at 44Møen, with a reading by Indigo Meara.

Angelina Nonaj is a poet and artist working across performative and participatory frameworks, lyrical writing, and experimental publishing. Their practice engages with the unstable and paradoxical shifts of language, form, and identity as generative tools to disrupt communicative hierarchies and open meaning beyond fixed borders.

For their intervention at 44Møen, they will present a performance developed during their one-week residency, in dialogue with the place and time of Møn.

The performance will be preceded by a reading by Indigo Meara, an artist, writer, and emerging curator based in Naarm/Melbourne, who will read a selection of her texts.

The evening will also be an occasion to present a collective publication featuring texts by artists who have performed at 44Møen this summer.

The event is curated by Luigi Di Bitonto, in dialogue with the artists and 44Møen.

The bar will open from 19:00. Come by for a drink, enjoy the sunset, and spend sometime with us before and after the program.

The performance and reading begin at 19:30.

Coming from Copenhagen? The Fanefjordgade 75 bus stop is just a short walk from 44Møen, with convenient evening connections back to Copenhagen departing at 20:50 and 21:20.

Abby Sundborn is quiet observer. An active composer, performer, improviser and collaborator within Melbourne’s fertile DIY underground, she equally appreciates time spent on the other side of the stage, attentively listening, imagining and finding beauty in her surroundings

Holding Pattern is perhaps the clearest distillation of Sundborn’s musical vision - one that is rooted in intimacy and vulnerability and pays homage to countless memories both shared and in solitude. A time-dilating piece for cello and voice performed to a small audience, it is fragile music with a deceptive intensity that unravels far beyond the confines of the dimly lit space in which it was performed

At its apex lies 𝓢𝓱𝓮𝓭, a title symbolising the 𝒷𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑜𝒻 𝒽𝒶𝒷𝒾𝓉𝓊𝒶𝓁 𝓅𝒶𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇𝓃𝓈 that can lead to one’s life becoming too routine and unconsciously self-destructive. The interplay between her cello and voice is entrancing and portrays an emotionally attuned composer with deft sensitivity to space and time. 𝐼 𝓀𝓃𝑒𝓌 𝐼 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 𝓂𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝓇𝓂 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒻𝑜𝒸𝓊𝓈𝑒𝒹, 𝒷𝓊𝓉 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓈𝑜 𝓂𝓊𝒸𝒽 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒸𝒶𝓃’𝓉 𝑔𝑒𝓉 𝑜𝓊𝓉. Always self-observational and never rushed, Sundborn seemingly utilises negative space as moments of reflection - her voice a vessel for ascension and grief that drifts slowly into the distance
