Masculine florals for Cameron’s 30th birthday Brief!
Back in May, I had the pleasure of creating florals for an amazing client celebrating her son’s milestone birthday. Her vision was clear: she wanted arrangements that felt modern, organic, and full of personality while still leaning masculine. Her color story? Green, white, and burgundy.

One of my favorite parts of being a florist is the sourcing process. Every event begins with a mood board to help bring the vision to life. We talk through the overall aesthetic, seasonal availability, vessel options, and budget before a single stem is ordered. Since flowers are seasonal, flexibility is always part of the design process and thankfully, this time every flower on my wish list was available.

For these arrangements, I selected a recipe of Ranunculus, Fritillaria Persica, Japanese allium, green Dianthus, Hydrangea, and my favorite bloom of all…the incredible Chocolate Cosmos, imported from Japan. And yes...they really do smell like chocolate. šŸ«šŸ¤¤

The installation included:
• 6 bud vases
• 4 ā€œlittle green creaturesā€ (my nickname for these playful Green dianthus arrangements 🤭)
• 6 medium arrangements that were later repurposed for the indoor lounge
• 1 large statement arrangement that welcomed and winked at the guests at the bar.

Every arrangement had its own personality while still feeling cohesive. The finished space was exactly what we had envisioned at Harriet’s: sculptural, organic, modern, and chic.
Clients like Kelly make what I do so rewarding, truly!!! šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Last week I got a fun little assignment... Create florals for Barbuto’s 1st birthday celebration šŸŽˆ
I started brainstorming… Then thought, what if we mixed vegetables with florals and created something a little unexpected, whimsical, and food-inspired?

I told @zen.milesaway (work wife, lol!) my idea and he said, ā€œI trust your vision.ā€ So I ran with it. Thank you Zenny šŸ«¶šŸ¼

I had so much fun playing with shape, texture, color and a few unexpected ingredients to create these little moments for the tables.
These are the projects that remind me how much I love what I do! Imaging a little magic, and watching it come to life.
Happy 1st Birthday, @barbutobk !
Here’s to many more years of good food, beautiful tables and a little bit of whimsy.

As the sun began to set, their colors came alive. ✨

A beautiful summer setting overlooking the bay, and distant view of Lady Liberty. Guests enjoyed a spectacular menu by Executive Chef Aaron, bubbly sips of Perrier-Jouët, and sustainable caviar by The Only Caviar.
To my partner in flower, Zenny, thank you for trusting my vision and for bringing me along to create something beautiful together. ✨

LET’s TALK COLOR THEORY!
About 90% of the time, the client has a color palette in mind for their arrangements. My job is to bring that vision to life, but also to look at it through my own artistic lens and find those little details that can make the arrangement feel even more special by adding a little Fruit Of Dreams touch šŸŖ„

Color theory is always somewhere in the back of my mind when I design, when I dress, and in the way I observe life through color.

For Roxane and Elizabeth, the vision was hot pink + orange. A vibrant combination that already had so much personality. I suggested adding just a touch of lavender. Not enough to change the story, but enough to create a little contrast.
That cooler lavender helps the warmer pinks and oranges pop even more, while also giving the eye a reason to wander through the arrangement and notice every little bloom, texture, and detail. They both loved the idea… and even better, told me the arrangements were a hit.
Music to my ears and my heart!!!

Floristry is such a beautiful craft because there’s always a little bit of art, color theory, storytelling, and intuition happening behind the scenes. I’m endlessly grateful that I get to make beautiful things that make people smile.

Elizabeth & Roxane, it was an absolute pleasure working with you and this colorway. I love how it’s a transitional palette that says goodbye to summer and welcomes autumn…

An evening celebrating thoughtful sourcing, sustainability, and exceptional ingredients.

The Only Caviar Ɨ Perrier-Jouët at Harriet’s.

A five-course menu built around caviar, seasonality, and using ingredients with intention from first bite to last.

Grateful for the partnership and for everyone who helped bring this dinner together. A special thank you to my wife for the beautiful flowers and for capturing the evening so perfectly through her photos.

I love making florals for clients, but I especially love when I get to also have a little fun with them and capture their personality through the lens. šŸ“ø

For Serena’s 40th birthday, we had a photoshoot and took some really fun shots at the studio.
For the florals, she wanted pink. Her favorite color! And since Serena has such a sparkly personality, I thought adding a little bedazzle to the gorgeous lilies would be the perfect extra touch. ✨
And not to mention… they smelled lovely too!

Serena, thank you for choosing @harrietsbk to celebrate your 40th bday. I hope you had a wonderful time!

One of my favorite parts of what I do is working with clients who aren’t afraid of color and who trust the creative process.
For Leila’s bridal shower, the theme was Italian citrus summer and the color palette was white and orange. I was immediately excited and inspired. šŸŠšŸ¤
We talked through seasonal blooms, vessel options, and ways to make the tables feel more immersive. I suggested incorporating fresh oranges and hand-strung kumquats to blur the line between florals and tablescape. After all, it was citrus inspired… and honestly, it became one of my favorite details.
The best moment? Watching the client walk in, stop in her tracks, and say, ā€œWowwww... this is beautiful. You’ll be my number 1 floristā€. Those are the moments that remind me why I love this craft so much! 🄹
I’m endlessly grateful for clients who trust my vision, embrace something a little unexpected, and allow creativity to lead the way.
And a special thank you to Jessica for your continued referrals and, most importantly, your trust.✨

A recent project for Barbuto’s Garden Dining 🌿
Each design featured a different combination of florals and airy, flowy greenery, creating movement while tying into the surrounding landscape so everything felt naturally connected. Arrangements that felt as though they had always belonged in the space…
I also sourced some fun sculptural vessels that reminded me of weathered tree trunks, reimagined in textured concrete. They added just the right balance of organic and industrial, perfectly complementing 1 Hotel’s earthy, and minimalist aesthetic.
The overall concept was simple, grounded, and cohesive, allowing the beauty of the garden and the florals to exist in harmony.

A heartfelt thank you to Serena and Zen for trusting my vision and inviting me to enhance such a special evening. It’s always an honor to create something that complements such a beautiful space. šŸ’š
