Life's too short not to make a spacesuit 👩🏻‍🚀
Industrial designer based in Oslo, Norway 🇳🇴

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Some workdays are just extra fun — like that time earlier this autumn when I found myself sneaking around the bushes along the Akerselva, acting as a dog-goggle photographer.

We’ve been developing an early prototype of dog goggles for @meeko.no at @k8industridesign , which meant I got to dive into both form development and model-making (and hang out with some very patient canine models).

But why do dogs even need goggles? Just like us, they can get snow blindness, and keen hunting or tracking dogs often get injured by branches and debris in the woods. So a good pair of goggles protects their eyes without getting in the way — and let’s be honest, they look absolutely legendary wearing them. 😎🐕 by @ftoerring

Thank you for flying with us!

The Inspiring Exploration x Exploring Inspiration exhibition is over, but the memories will last forever!

A huge thank you to my amazing crew that made this journey happen: @smogdog, @ericmolumby and Space Dog Program astronaut Kajsa!

Life's too short not to make a spacesuit 👩🏻‍🚀 I've just finished the Orion Crew Survival Suit (OCSS) costume, just need the visors for the helmet to complete everything.

@meshy.ai meets @itsclo3d in this reel where I recreate one my my NASA Apollo era inspired temporary stowage bags in CLO! Meshy's multi-view algorithm blew me away by being able to model and texture my signature triple snake knot paracord zipper puller in just minutes based off a couple of photos 🤯

After a quick remesh and FBX export I was good to go in CLO where I finished up my piece by importing the zipper puller as a custom trim.

My husband, who’s the chairman of Njård Fencing Club @njardfekting , asked very nicely if I could design some trophies for the Winter Fencing Tournament. Not one to do things halfway, I took it as the perfect excuse to test out the new laser cutter we got at work (thanks for letting me borrow it!). After a few long nights, all 48 trophies were finished just in time — and the fencers loved them! ⚔️

It’s been a while since I last posted one of these, but here are a few sketchbook highlights from this autumn. Since graduating from @ahodesign , I’ve been working as a junior designer at @k8industridesign — so many of the sketches are for the team’s eyes only. Still, I always find time for a few meeting doodles!

Another addition to the Apollo-era-inspired Temporary Stowage family—this time, a free-standing version. I originally designed it to neatly organise my gym toiletries, but its spacious bottom makes it perfect for storing all those small items that typically get lost in a pouch. Made from polyester canvas, lined with ripstop nylon, detailed with stamped cotton webbing, and finished with French seams.

S/N 1093.

Between my gym logbook, today’s workout notes, chalk, bottles, cans, and warm-up straps, I’m becoming the type of person who brings a few too many things to comfortably carry around the gym. But I’m also the type of person who loves designing solutions for exactly this kind of problem! Today I tested the first iteration of my Gym Caddy—made from black cotton canvas and cotton webbing—which holds everything I need during training and easily folds away into my gym bag afterwards. It features two adjustable bottle holders, each of which can expand to fit different diameters or collapse completely, creating extra space when you’re only using one or neither. taken in Athletica Nydalen by @ftoerring

Ever since I began researching spacesuits and crafting my own replicas, Adam Savage has been a huge inspiration. It felt only fitting to ensure one of my Temporary Stowage bags made its way to him – special thanks to @smogdog for making it happen! by @ftoerring

As a soon-to-be graduating industrial designer, I’ve been thinking a lot about how products age. Too often, our profession obsesses over the perfect, fresh-out-of-the-box look without considering how colors, materials, and finishes evolve over time.

Take my gym bag, for example. Some might call it dirty—I call it full of stories. It’s been everywhere: sprawled on the floor at the climbing gym, strapped to my bike rack, slung over my shoulder as I crutched my way through Seoul… oh, and once, it even carried a seagull to the vet. (Don’t worry, it went straight into the washing machine after that one!)

Every scuff and stain? Just proof of a life well-lived.

How do you feel about aging products—patina or just plain worn out? by @ftoerring
