Before Broadway…
before the Bananas…

There was an 18-year-old UCLA baseball player performing in a bar with For The Record.

This is Derek Klena.
“16 Candles.”
Our original 80s show. 15+ years ago.

No stage. No rules.
Singing in the aisles. On top of bars.
60 seats… if you were lucky.

It was never traditional.

It was… kind of bananas.

That was his spring training.

From FTR → to Broadway → to the Savannah Bananas.
From 60 seats → to 60,000.

Proof there’s no single path.
Just the ones bold enough to take the swing.

And maybe… Teen Beat was always in his DNA.

Full circle.

FTR is back in the 80s—
building something new at CineVita,
right next to SoFi.

Same spirit. Bigger stage.

Once FTR… always FTR.

Welcome to the yearbook.

Danielle Moné Truitt — voted most likely to solve a murder.

Before Law & Order Organized Crime, she was holding court at For The Record — a powerhouse performer and a cornerstone of our stage.

Some people were always destined for prime time.

Once FTR, always FTR.
