With one of our earlier cars we placed 2nd in the communications award in 2018. In 2019 the FF5 car won the design award and in 2022 the FF6 car placed 3rd in the autonomous competition.

We will be competing with FF5 at Shell-Eco-Marathon 2026!🏅 by @fuelfighter_ntnu

🌀About Fuel Fighter🌀

Fuel Fighter started in 2008/2009. In 2009, on the third run in the SEM-competition, the Fuel Fighter team enden up winning the Urban Concept-car class and setting a new world-record after driving the equivalent of 1,246 km (774 mi) on one liter of gasoline.

Since then, several students across a number of different studies at NTNU Trondheim has helped develop Fuel Fighter to the great Technical Organization it is today✨

Every year we compete in the Shell Eco Marathon. The purpose of the Mileage competition is to design a vehichle that can drive as far as possible on the least amount of fuel.

We also take part in the Autonomous Driving Competition where teams design, build, and test vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities.

The competition takes place somewhere in Europe every year, for 2026 the competition will be in Poland🏆 by @fuelfighter_ntnu

Inside the mechanical workshop at Fuel Fighter NTNU, where drivetrain and manufacturing come together, on equipment that includes a lathe from 1946, still in daily use.

This is where raw materials become the parts that end up on the car we race at Shell Eco-marathon.

Bootcamp has begun for Team 27 at Fuel Fighter NTNU.

A room full of people who didn’t know each other three weeks ago, now taking a car apart to learn how to build the next one.

Fuel Fighter NTNU has raced in @shell_ecomarathon since 2008: last season, 10th place in Europe, 137 kilometers on a single kilowatt-hour.

This season starts here: a classroom, then a workshop, then six departments learning to work as one.

57 students, new and old, from different countries, different backgrounds but with same mission.

Bootcamp har startet for Team 27 hos Fuel Fighter NTNU.

Et rom fullt av folk som ikke kjente hverandre for tre uker siden, som nå tar en bil i stykker for å lære hvordan man bygger den neste.

Fuel Fighter NTNU har konkurrert i @shell_ecomarathon siden 2008, i fjor tok de en 10. plass i Europa, med 137 kilometer på én kilowattime. Denne sesongen starter her: et klasserom, deretter et verksted, og seks avdelinger som lærer å jobbe som én.

57 studenter, nye og gamle, fra forskjellige land forskjellig bakgrunn, samme oppdrag.

Shell Eco-marathon 2026

After months of designing, manufacturing, testing, and countless late nights in the workshop, 15 of our teammembers traveled to Poland to compete in this year's Shell Eco-marathon.

The highlight of the event was achieving the 10th place in our class, with an official efficiency result of 137 km/kWh – Fuel Fighter NTNU's first official classified result in many years! 🎉

This result is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of every single member of the team. We're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together and can't wait to keep improving for next season.

2 weeks ago we attended the Nordic Hydrogen Valleys Conference in Trondheim⭐️ Here we got to meet amazing people and partake in panels, discussions and workshops regarding the future of Hydrogen in all of the Nordics🇳🇴🇸🇪🇩🇰🇫🇮🇮🇸
We even got our own more present challenge, managing the logistics of carrying our car upstairs to the conference hall for display😅
