I don’t really have much of a caption for this one except I’d get at least two of these tattooed 🥰

✨ UNO Bookstagram Challenge ✨
I first saw this on Pinterest from @osmeybks, and instantly decided to try it!
It was fun finding that one book that I’d go back in time to read because it reminded me that there are a BUNCH of books/series I’d go back in time to read 😅 but alas, I only picked one!
Side note: this page is really pushing my Canva skill and I’m loving it 🥰

➰⚔️ “The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Prince” - Cassandra Clare ⚔️➰
I’ve always been a *huge* fan of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters Novels/Universe...but it’s something about this book. Clare effortlessly uses a dark fantasy base and layers an unintentional love triangle on top of dark science fiction, on top of borderline horror and it makes for a book that had me clawing at my walls for the next one to be released. Also...the Shadowhunter Universe spans across literal generations and there’s always a reference to the other books’ characters which is always lovely! #shadowhunters #infernaldevices

🐍 “Serpent & Dove” - Shelby Mahurin 🐍
It’s been a while since I read this book, but I think the main reason I didn’t finish it was that the “slow burn” wasn’t burning slow enough for me. Yeah, it had a forced proximity/forced marriage trope mixed in with an enemy-to-lovers trope (two lethal tropes)…but despite that, I felt like the romance was forced onto the characters rather than letting them find it themselves. And I know that’s the literal point of forced proximity/marriage tropes, but the characters seemed to fall too easily in love. The male love interest had character development but—*in my opinion*—the basis of that development was kind of glossed over.

🥀 “These Violent Delights” - Chloe Gong 🥀
🪁”The Kite Runner” - Khaled Hosseini 🪁
Two books from two vastly different genres, but both were incredibly impactful to me.

Khaled Hosseini’s “The Kite Runner” was assigned to us as a summer reading project one year, and I remember starting the audiobook and then switching to the physical book after I realized how good it was. It is a heavy book, in more ways than one. It has themes of guilt and political commentary, touching on Taliban-c by @fulcrums.library

Allow me to reintroduce myself!
My name is Quin, and this is my (reinvented) Bookstagram—something I started in 2021🤗
It’s a way for me to share my passion of reading with others while also rediscovering said passion! In the past few years, it’s been easier buying the books and setting them to the side because the thought of having books has been more “realistic” than reading because of time and just…life😅
I also want to broaden my preferred genres! I’ve always been a fantasy/YA girly, but I want to delve more into fiction/historical fiction, maybe even a few thrillers! This account—and those who follow it—is kind of an accountability partner; something to remind myself that it’s okay to try something new without the guarantee of “results”.
I hope this account inspires other to do the same and acts as a reminder that it’s okay to find yourself again. 🩵🤍

I finished Oathbound, the third book in the masterwork that is the Legendborn Cycle, this week…and on the same day, met the wonderful, kind, and hilarious author behind said masterwork: @tracydeonn
~💜❤️‍🔥~
Oathbound is the continuation of Bree Matthews’s journey—one that delves into her moral compass and the weight of her decisions throughout the first and second books. Tracy Deonn (once again) weaves an enticing and intricate narrative that not only highlights Bree’s personal struggles but also explores the ripple affect of her absence on those closest to her. The world-building is immaculate, and the way she effortlessly centers the story on Bree regardless of who’s POV it’s in (yes it’s a multi-pov—DON’T KNOCK IT, READ IT FIRST) is a masterclass in and of itself. She has a way of telling every black girl/woman that despite the mistakes we make, we’re still deserving of love and appreciation; that no matter how many people are in the room saying we can’t do this or we shouldn’t do that, there will always be a space where we create it.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking this series out. It’s one of my favorites, and I’m so lucky to have been able to meet her! 😊

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on this page, or since I’ve even thought about posting on it. But I miss it! And I miss reading! And I’ve challenged myself to read a bit more throughout the rest of the year! But I wanted a fresh start, so allow me to reintroduce myself😊
✨🤎🌿✨
My name is Quin, and this is my bookstagram where I post my thoughts about books that I manage to read amidst the curves and busy moments life throws at me. My go-to genre is fantasy/sci-fi, and my favorite tropes are enemies/rivals to lovers, opposites attract, different worlds, and fake relationships.
I figured as a way to slowly come back to Bookstagram that I would challenge myself to post for the next 25 days with a little Bookstagram Bingo! 😊 Seeing as this is Day 1 of coming back, today’s prompt was to spell out my name using my books…can you find it?👀
I’m really excited to hop back into the many many worlds of reading, and I hope that I can inspire others to read, or at the very least entertain y’all a bit!
✨🤎🌿✨

This book was literally 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾
I loved everything about it, from cover to cover. I was so upset when I finished it so quickly, but it’s okay; now it’s time to go through with my sticky notes🤩
I’ll do a more in depth review about this book soon!

So excited to jump into this book. I’ve missed Bree, Sel, and Nick. I’ve missed the drama, the romance, the FIGHTING. I’m so excited.

QOTD: what book are you currently reading??
This month’s book is “Daughter of The Moon Goddess” by @suelynntan !
Amidst all of the tragedy going on, especially amongst the black community (a community that I am PROUDLY apart of), it’s rather hard to escape a reality that is so keen on making the hatred and discrimination against our community known, but this book has helped in the slightest way. I’ve just started it, but I loving it so far!
Now! This isn’t a “political” page, but unfortunately, my life as a black woman is and will forever be affected by politics. I, along with other countless black Americans, don’t exactly have the luxury of not “making everything political”.
I just had to go on a small rant, especially after the tragic incident that happened in Buffalo.

I stated earlier that I wanted to do some different things on this account, and that includes making this account into kind of a journal-bookstagram hybrid! SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO:
November’s book: @tracydeonn ‘s Legendborn!
This book has to be one of the most emotionally and mentally riveting books I’ve ever read.
It’s a well done mix between magic, self-identity, and generational trauma, while also showcasing some real black girl magic 💁🏾‍♀️💛
I will most definitely read this again while I wait for the sequel, Bloodmarked, WHICH comes out July of next year!
