was gonna post this yesterday, but... yeah. I've done this since my Olympic working days - the list of this year's US Olympians that have a Michigan tie! Hopefully I didn't miss anyone, or misspell any names. 22 in total, 14 raised in the Mitten, both peninsulas represented... and one from the Flint area! I added in their IG handles this time around (they're also tagged in the post), and I encourage you to follow and support them all #ParisOlympics #Michigan @teamusa by @fullerjoh

In my mind I always knew I’d write something like this. After working independently for 17 years with some of the world’s top athletes, it’s time to move on. Officially starting in January, I will be the new Global Marketing Director for the Florida Department of Citrus - all things Florida oranges, grapefruits and orange juice (unfortunately orange @starburst is not included… yet). It'll be exciting to work alongside the growers to help tell their stories and continue to help grow the industry. Yes, I’ll be moving to the land of gators, buffets, Florida Man… and citrus! Specifically Lakeland, so I’m sure I’ll hear from many of you come Spring Training time.I’m stepping in for an amazing person who is moving into a new role herself, and they are big shoes to fill. No more hoodies, mesh shorts and waking up with no alarms. But also no more ticket requests! I’m also excited that I’ll get to live out scenes from one of the greatest Eddie Murphy movies, Trading Places. I pledge to protect our orange juice futures and never leak the orange crop forecasts!Thank you to all of my clients past and present, good and bad, for allowing me to play a role in your career in some way. Thanks to all the people I’ve worked with along the way, from media members to amazing corporate and community partners who are constantly working with me to pursue unique concepts and push the boundaries of our industries. Thank you to the many volunteers who have been a part of my clients’ various community projects, some of whom follow me here. This isn’t a new chapter… it’s a new book.tl;dr - just call me Johnny Citrus 🎩 @pdalyphoto by @fullerjoh

the secret is out! For the past six years I have sent a fake Christmas card from the Peterson family to a circle of friends back home. There were always clues hidden in the cards... the kids names (Jaxon, Olive and Huston - JOH), the return address, or most years the first letter of every sentence spelled something out, etc... A Zodiac symbol has appeared on the last few cards. I've never seen those families or met them. The photo was always chosen at random from IG. It just seemed like a family worthy of being the Peterson's for that year. The goal was to see how long it would take before someone had the courage to post online to ask who they were. Like when you meet someone who knows you but you're too embarrassed to ask who they to try not to hurt their feelings - the online version. It took Bill Hough (who also figured this out) roughly 37 minutes into the first year to not have a worry about it. Thanks to all who received a card these past six years and letting the Peterson's (apostrophe is intentional) have a moment in the sun. Thanks to the accomplices who wrote the cards, received a package to mail them so the cards had a Michigan or Chicago post office stamp and the very few others who knew. Most of all - thank you to the families who served as the Peterson's, and will never know it. Scroll thru the pics to see all the Person families! by @fullerjoh

for the second time this year I have tested positive for COVID. Super exciting. I'm sure this is my penance for being able to count on one hand the number of times I've been sick the past two decades. I've been laid up pretty hard the past few days. Look, I'll most likely be fine. But many won't. I don't take precautions for myself. I take them for others - for elderly, for people with heart conditions, for children with medical conditions that could harm them long-term. I haven't eaten in a restaurant since February. If you know me, you know that's killing me. I haven't traveled since January. I couldn't go watch my clients play just a few hours from me. I won't be able to spend Thanksgiving anywhere. I've spent the last nine months living on and not being able to enjoy one of the coolest places in the country, the San Antonio Riverwalk. And yet there are way more people much worse off than I am. This isn't a cold. This isn't the flu. I can tell you that from prior experience. Death isn't the only long-term complication. Until we have a vaccine, just please wear a mask and keep your distances in public - and quit complaining about doing that. Be smart, and show compassion for others. by @fullerjoh

yesterday @freeballin21 and @ashley_chrisman joined #Colorado Governor @jaredpolis to get their annual flu vaccines. It's easy to forget with COVID controlling everything that this is still vital for communities and youth, especially as some are in and out of schools. For my Canadian friends - there is not another Freeland jumping into politics... but he does look good at that podium! #Rockies #MLB #NoBadDogs by @fullerjoh

Proud of these two guys. Neither team made the playoffs, but both bounced back with a vengeance this season. In sports... in life... we all have setbacks. We all have challenges that push us physically and mentally. I'll stop so this post doesn't sound like I'm a fitness influencer. But @cutchtwenty2 and @freeballin21 showed what commitment, passion and hard work can help one accomplish, especially in the face of the strangest of sports years. It's probably not a coincidence their numbers are next to each other #MLB #Baseball #Phillies #Rockies by @fullerjoh

This one hits hard. There's a lot about my youth many of you don't know... and if you don't know it already you're probably not going to know. I can't stress how important Kathy Blake was to me in my high school and college years. She was a community presence and as unselfish of a human being that could be created. At a time when all I was doing was messing up (but who wasn't?) she figured out ways to ground me. She supported me through some hard times, a few good times, and I'm honored I was able to be there for her during a hard time. So many around my age in our area received that same love from her. I hate that I can't be there for the funeral tomorrow, but I'm also glad that on a day trip home this past fall I was able to see her one last time. We weren't related, but she was family. RIP, but also thank you. You played a major role in who and what I am today. by @fullerjoh

Check out The Big Show Show which premieres tomorrow on @Netflix. My buddy Jay wrote and produced it and I'm pretty pumped for him. He's written on some funny shows like Happy Endings and LA To Vegas. It's family-friendly, and it stars THE BIG SHOW! I know you're home. Big Show knows you're home. Netflix definitely knows you're home. Yes, those are thinly-veiled threats. So watch it #WWE #TV #Emmys by @fullerjoh

100 years ago TODAY eight teams formed the Negro National League, the first opportunity for black athletes to play professional baseball. The Negro Leagues paved the way for opportunity in all walks of life. Icons such as Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson (IMO the greatest player who ever lived) all created their paths in the Negro Leagues. As my friend @nlbmprez says, Babe Ruth was the white Josh Gibson. But what made it unique is they weren't just for black players. Hundreds of Latinos played. Roberto Clemente credited Negro Leaguer Monte Irvin for his success in the outfield. Even women such as the great Peanut Johnson played... and succeeded! The Negro Leagues created opportunity for ALL.Many of you have kids who have school projects. Some of you are teachers. You don't need Black History Month to talk about black history, and you don't need to be a baseball fan or black to talk about the Negro Leagues. Its impact went well beyond the scope of sports. Celebrate this centennial in its entirety, and then beyond. Every one of us can find a connection to this piece of our nation's history. And if you're in Kansas City, visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.Pics - Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige, Mamie "Peanut" Johnson#Baseball #MLB #NegroLeagues #Museum #History by @fullerjoh
