Pig & Hen is restocked at Fulton Found. We brought back several styles this round, including the rope bracelets Pig & Hen is known for, beaded options, metal styles, and heavier cuffs. They’re easy to wear on their own, but we especially like mixing a few different styles together and stacking them. The story behind the brand is worth knowing, too. Pig & Hen was founded in Amsterdam after sailor Dominic Bakker made himself a bracelet from sailing rope. The name comes from an old maritime superstition: sailors would tattoo a pig and a hen on their feet for good luck and protection at sea. Because the animals were transported in wooden crates, pigs and hens sometimes survived shipwrecks when their crates floated back to shore. Pig & Hen took that old symbol of luck and safe passage and built a collection around it. Every bracelet is still handmade in Amsterdam. The restock is in the shop now & available online. We’ve introduced you to Carlos before, but what you may not know is that he spent 10 years in the footwear industry before coming to FF. So when it comes to this particular corner of the shop, we happily defer to him. He knows the brands, construction, fit, and all the little differences you don’t necessarily think about until you’re standing there trying to decide between two pairs. More importantly, he genuinely likes helping people figure out what works for them. Right now that means suede Vejas, Red Wing Chelseas, and moc toes that only get better the longer you own them. It’s time to start layering. We’re currently into a light jacket, stacked bracelets, & a casual but elevated shoe.
