Abba’s Daughter ✨
Documenting life 🌍

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A month ago, life as I knew it changed forever. My best friend and only parent transitioned home — a passing that reflected the kind of woman she always was — so peaceful.

My grandmother was my definition of love. To her, I was beautiful long before “Brown Skin Girl.”
I felt like her most priceless possession. She was my biggest cheerleader, my protector, my covering. With her, there truly was love at home.

She embodied the person I aspire to be: ever so gracious, ever so kind, ever so warm, and always giving. She was the love of God demonstrated.
The young boys at Saint Patrick’s College, Asaba, always had a mother in her, she nursed their wounds and filled their bellies.

I remember how she would stay up just to turn off the lantern after I fell asleep because I hated the dark, and how she would gently wake me up for morning Mass, knowing how devout I was as a young Catholic, even though she was Anglican. We had so little, yet with her, I lacked nothing.

So, I mourn with hope. I am deeply honored to have shared a lifetime with her, to have been the recipient of her warmth and care.

Nwáńyị bá ànyị! Nwá Ànịgbọ̀gwú, Nwá Òkà! Nwá M̀gbézè!

There is such sadness and emptiness. But, there is also gratitude. I am so proud to be your legacy. What a life you lived, what immense shoes to fill. Thank you, Jesus, for the gift of Edith Ato Arinze. Thank you, God, for 94 glorious years.

Nnem, A fụ m gị n’anya. Uwa ọzọ, ị ga-abụ nnem.

Rest well, my love. Enjoy paradise 🤍🕊️
