Not much to report about last weeks post worlds races. Change of pace from the World Cups with lots of sand and dry courses. Struggled to lock in mentally after celebrating my ride at worlds and the results showed it. Still a good week hanging with @kayamusgrave.

Big thank you to the people and brands that made this season possible. @mcgoverncycles wore many hats but we made it happen. Hope to see @cervelo_orangeliving continue to support North American cross racers next season. by @fun_scott2

Over the last few months I have tried not to be outspoken nor coy about my future in the sport of cyclocross. I have simply told the truth when I was asked about my plans for next season. In the mixed zone after worlds I gave an interview where I continued to tell the truth. You can read the velo article at the link in my bio. It does a nice job of summarizing my race and decision to step back.

The only thing I would edit is the word “retiring” in the headline. I have tried to avoid using this word for several reasons. I did not have a cycling career. I never made more money than most people do from a side hustle, and I always had at least one if not multiple jobs outside of racing to support myself. Additionally, I will still be racing! I have a deep love for this sport and will continue to be apart of our community. However, @x2obadkamerstrofee Lille this weekend marks the end of my time chasing championship jerseys and competing in Europe.

Thank you to everyone that has been apart of this journey from when I was a junior in Washington, to @cmucycling and the last few years in Boulder.

I have begun the process of looking for my first full time job. I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and would love to hear about any opportunities in the Denver Metro area. by @fun_scott2

On my way back to Europe to finish out the World Cup and take on elite Worlds for the 2nd time with @usacycling. This trip would not have happened without the financial support of the MudFund and @gholicky ’s encouragement as the discipline director. Honored to recieve support during a time where many other programs would consider 25 too old to still develop and not worth investing in. After a few productive weeks at home, I feel prepared to go out strong.

This European block challenged me mentally in a way I’ve never experienced before. Morale was pretty low at points but every time I was able to flip the switch while in the grid and race with the aggression and intensity the World Cup circuit requires. Put together a solid string of results culminating in Besançon where I rode from the mid thirties up to 20th. A top 20 in a World Cup on the European continent is a result that I’m proud of and the manner in which I achieved it made it even more satisfying. Happy to be starting the new year at home to reset and refocus.
