I've decided to create a snail mail (physical and digital) mail club for my upcoming graphic novel, Worrywart. It's my longest work yet, an autobio about my struggles with anxiety and OCD over the past 20 years.
I've been working on this project since 2023 and between a day job, personal obligations and my own mental block, it's been slow. I'm hoping that approaching it in smaller chunks will help me get over my fear of doing another big project. And this also keeps me on schedule because I have to consider people waiting on it! I just gotta trick my brain at this point.

Please, friends, we need your help.

October 1st is fast approaching, and unfortunately, we lack the necessary funds. It breaks my heart to see children who want to learn and build their futures but risk starting school without the essentials—especially since I promised them school kits again this year, relying on your support. But I have faith in you, my friends.

So far, we have raised only €267 of our €1,000 goal. Every small donation—even just a few euros—can make a huge difference and help bring a smile to these children's faces.

Please make a small donation if you can, and above all, help us share this post with others. A simple share could help us reach someone who is able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone supporting us and believing in these young artists.

🔞The series revolves around a bizarre, global sleeping sickness known as “Aurora” that exclusively targets women. When women fall asleep, they become shrouded in a strange, cocoon-like webbed substance and cannot be awakened or else if they get disturbed the women wake up in a feral, violently homicidal rage.

I’m working on a graphic novel right now about my life dealing with anxiety, panic disorder and OCD and the impact it had on my life path.
In order to keep a good schedule of working on it, I had to break it down into smaller parts that don’t make my brain freak out as much. I’m releasing chapters via Patreon. You can join the digital mail club or the snail mail club to receive a physical copy in the mail. I won’t be reprinting these comics again because I’m doing this in part to keep myself on track rather than doing large runs of each chapter.
If you want to read along starting from Chapter 1, join the mail club by the end of this week, August 22nd. by @funeralbeat

I’m excited to share the cover art of my debut middle-grade verse novel, FOREVER FRIES, illustrated by the award-winning illustrator and comics creator @funeralbeat. It’s coming from @orcabook on March 16, 2027, and available for preorder now. This book has been a work of love for many years. It’s loosely based on personal and family experiences, although it’s firmly fiction, and it proudly features a protagonist who shares my identity elements. Here’s a blurb:

How can one bite matter so much?

It feels impossible for thirteen-year-old Marley to cross the street and meet her crush, Chloe, at Forever Fries. Not because she’s nervous about the date (although she is), but because fries are on Marley’s No-Eat list. But she made a promise to her eating-disorder therapist to try this forbidden food in a safe situation…with Chloe. As Marley builds up the courage to enter Forever Fries, she is haunted by the memories that shaped her relationship with food. Marley knows she can heal, and maybe today, she can eat one fry.

This middle-grade novel told in verse is a powerful exploration of disordered eating recovery.

I’m honoured by these advanced reviews of my book:

“FOREVER FRIES sculpts its own unique space in the novel-in-verse universe. With great empathy and understanding of her subject matter, Karen Krossing portrays Marley’s struggle with disordered eating and body image in a kid-friendly, accessible manner. The playful structure of the narrative, the variety of poetry styles and the well-drawn, authentic characters invite the reader to immerse themselves in Marley’s challenges as well as her joys.”
@cordeliajensen1, author of Lilac and the Switchback

“FOREVER FRIES is a deeply empathetic portrayal of Marley, who faces her eating disorder with bravery and hope.”
@laurashovan, author of The Last Fifth Grade of Emerson Elementary

Debuting at TCAF, a new comic zine about the backlash my 'Catcall Kill Kill' sticker triggers, my thoughts about the no-win scenario of women's beauty, lots of rambling thoughts inspired by the art of Marisol and weird comments left by anonymous internet people. Risograph printed, comes with a free sticker so you too can be called a bitter ugly old hag with blue hair! by @funeralbeat
