Encounters After Dark

As Halloween draws closer, the familiar begins to turn strange.

Through smoke, shadows and flashes of colour, eerie figures emerge from the crowd. Screams, laughter and unexpected encounters fill the night as characters appear around every corner.

These photographs capture the atmosphere of Halloween after dark — fleeting moments of fear, fantasy and spectacle as the season comes alive.

Before Race Day . Beyond the Speed 🏁

In Formula 1, a few seconds can change everything. A quick tyre change can gain a position, while the smallest delay can cost one.

At the Singapore Grand Prix Pit Lane Experience, it was fascinating to watch the mechanics handling tyres, working on the cars and going about their preparations. Every task has its place, and the speed we see on race day depends on far more than the driver alone.

There were lighter moments too — a wave from the Mercedes garage, fans proudly wearing their team colours, people strolling along the circuit and the lively beat of drums adding to the atmosphere.

A glimpse of Formula 1 beyond the racing, and the many people who make it what it is.

Fragments of the Everyday

Glass separates one space from another, yet reflections bring them together.

Faces overlap with buildings, gestures dissolve into colour, and familiar moments become briefly unfamiliar. Inside and outside, subject and reflection, begin to blur.

These photographs observe the fleeting intersections found along the street — moments when separate lives, spaces and fragments of the city appear to exist within a single frame.

The Space Between Moments

Inside the gallery, people move at different rhythms.
Some pass quickly through the space. Others pause, observe or simply rest. Between reflections, artworks and passing figures, brief moments of stillness emerge.

These photographs observe the quiet relationship between people and the spaces they move through — moments where movement and stillness briefly share the same frame.

Behind the colour and fabric, a quieter rhythm continues.
Measurements are taken, cloth is cut, seams are guided beneath the needle. Hands repeat movements learned through years of work, turning pieces of fabric into something made to be worn.

These photographs observe the tailors at work — not only the garments they create, but the patience, skill and everyday labour that often remain unseen.

After the Sun Goes Down

As daylight disappears, the streets take on another life.
Under fluorescent lights and rising smoke, stalls come alive. Woks burn, hands move, conversations unfold, and strangers gather briefly around food and trade.

These photographs follow the small encounters of an Ipoh night market — moments of work, exchange and everyday life illuminated against the darkness.

Behind the Lion

At the 30th Ngee Ann National Lion Dance Championship, every leap begins long before the lion takes flight.

Behind every performance is a collective effort — the beat of the drums, flags raised with pride, hands carrying and preparing, and teammates standing beside one another through every moment.

Beyond the spectacle are the bonds that hold a team together — trust, friendship, discipline and a shared devotion to tradition.

The lion takes flight for a moment. The people behind it carry the tradition forward.

Our Songs, Our Story

Xinyao (新谣) is Singapore’s homegrown Mandarin music movement, shaped by songs about growing up, friendship and everyday life.

For many, these were songs they had grown up with — melodies carrying memories of youth, friendship and an earlier Singapore. Among them were children and younger listeners, experiencing the same music in a different time.

These photographs observe the connection between generations — familiar lyrics sung again, hands clapping in recognition, children watching from their parents’ shoulders, and old songs finding new listeners.
What began as the music of one generation continues to live through another.

The Everyday Table

Some things endure through repetition.
A knife against a board. Hands shaping dough. A familiar recipe prepared without hesitation. Day after day, these small gestures become part of the rhythm of a place.

These photographs observe the people behind the stalls — stories found not in grand moments, but in the quiet continuity of everyday work.
