Back in April, we welcomed Dean Chew (Darker Than Wax/Offtrack) for his 77 debut, guiding the room through jazz-inflected house, Afrocentric grooves and broken beat. Groove over genre, feel over polish, the same instinct that’s shaped his sets since his early Perth basement club days.

Perth might seem an unlikely origin story for a Singaporean dance music label, but as @funk_bstrd tells it, the Australian city’s thriving ‘90s club scene helped shape the eclectic DNA of @darkerthanwax – one of the most respected vinyl imprints to emerge in the last decade.

As the label marks its 15th anniversary in 2026, Chew reflects with Henry Johnstone on its journey from a humble island in Southeast Asia to New York City and beyond, the vibrancy of the region’s club scene, and why a timeless bassline pressed to wax still endures.

Catch Dean Chew (Darker Than Wax/Offtrack) with Mazzacles on Thursday 02 April at Club 77 from 10pm — 5am. Early bird tickets via RA, free entry before midnight via guest list 🔗 taken in Club 77 Syd by @funk_bstrd

Won’t go into too much detail or make a fuss about it, but I battled through an extremely challenging year to get to this point.

Our second baby @earworm.sg will officially go live on the 6th of Oct, and i can’t be more proud of it. Hopefully, it will add a different flava to the landscape in Singapore, and switch things up a little.

C yall very soon at the 🪱

MAD. 💨💨💨💨
Coming in #16 on that Asia 50 best bars list this year was already an incredible feat for us at @offtrack.sg, but to actually make it into the World’s best bars at #89 is beyond belief. Huge love and thanks going out to our team and the community for everything. I’m just taking it all in now 🥹🥹🥹

YES YES! 🍀

We’re back with another edition of 🍀 BREW 🍀 at our new home, @idas_sg — and this will be our LAST one before we take a little breather for the rest of the year. So you know what to do. 👀

@raykong_ absolutely slayed it with his incredible selections at last year’s BREW block party, and we knew we had to bring him back for another sonic outing.

This time, he’s going proper B2B with head honcho Dean Chew @funk_bstrd. 👀👀

Label mates @dextercolt_ and @darylknows will also be taking turns behind the wheels, digging deep into their bags of cuts.

Early bird tics are LIVE now. ☀️☀️☀️

📍Mark your cals for this one

We continue from strength to strength with our DTW15 anniversary series, and on the 18th, we will be joined by the inimitable @yamarchy, as part of an exchange with @querico_tokyo.

Yamarchy needs very little introduction - A highly respected selector, his ability to pick obscure records that explore the underground with a cosmic and Balearic base has been a mainstay across various dance floors.
Since the opening of Tokyo’s club @mitsuki_tokyo in 2019, he has been working as a resident DJ and booking director, pursuing a fusion of music that accompanies everyday life and psychedelic groove music.

On 22 August, we step outside for the very first edition of Taman RASA, a new series where music, drinks and community come together from afternoon into night. Leading our inaugural gathering is Detroit’s Moodymann in his long-awaited Singapore debut.

Through KDJ Records and as one quarter of 3 Chairs, Kenny Dixon Jr. has spent decades redefining house music through soul, jazz, funk and groove—always guided by feeling rather than formula.

Joining Moodymann is a lineup that reflects the communities at the heart of Taman RASA. Dean Chew (@funk_bstrd), Daryl Knows (@darylknows), Bobby Obby Obby (@pingpongpanda) Ramesh (@tropikaglobal) and Suffyan (@s_____ffyan) guide the soundtrack from afternoon into evening, while Mismatch and a cast of roller disco performers bring movement and unexpected moments throughout the day.

This first edition takes place at Foochow Building, marking RASA’s first gathering beyond the venue—a new chapter built around music, drinks, and community.

Welcome to Taman RASA.
