$My dad passed March 5th, 2023 at the age of 61 after a terrible battle with early-onset Alzheimer's. It was painful to watch him slip away and his mind unravel over the course of about 6 years. Despite the painful challenges he was served all his life since childhood, his spirit shone through. It was sensitive, sweet, nurturing, understanding, creative, expressive and deep. Perhaps too delicate for the heavy hand he was dealt in life, for I saw how it fractured him. We were incredibly close, but the fracture made it challenging as I grew up. This weekend we held memorial for him and brought him back in harmony with nature. Now, as I look around the beauty of nature, a place I always saw him truly whole and at peace-- I see his whole spirit shining back and quietly by my side. by @funkafly$
