MEME DROP FOR GIG PROMO

tonight we’re packing our bags and heading to passos manuel for one last time as we know it.
we’ll be joining the boss pedro tenreiro and we couldn’t ask for a better company at the booth.

thank you becas and maria for being home for us and our guests all these years. venues willing to experiment are crucial as there’s little evolution in profitable repetition.

just tell yourself you only going for a beer and stay til noon. you won’t regret til tomorrow 😏 taken in Passos Manuel by @funkamente

Just like many other stories in this city, if we can pinpoint it to a date, this kinda started a day we bumped into each other in cais. One of us was out the other was djing, ended up spending the night together and a couple others followed until the bond materialized as Funkamente.
We kept going back there for a while, including at our very own first Funkamental nights at Musicbox (gonna be missed!), gigs at Lounge (RIP), and those one-of-a-kind set at the very dearly missed Sabotage.

Funnily enough this time we’re doing our debut at an absolute cais staple and one of the few last resisting dancing dens there. We just couldn’t say no to one of the most enthusiastic approaches we got in a while so we’re packing our bags full of those funky disco maxis a boogie cave like this deserves.

Ofc we couldn’t let go the amazing oportunity to drop a proper cais-do-sodre meme pack. Pick your favorite 👉 by @funkamente

If you’re reading this it is not too late and it may even be the right time to drop what you’re doing and head to Duro De Matar where we’re going to be dusting off some records all day and all night 🤝 taken in Beato, Lisboa, Portugal by @funkamente

This weekend we’re heading back to what became our favorite festival, the yearly retreat by the lake. It’s our fourth time, the lake feels home to us, but we’re just as excited as the first time.
We planned a path through countless sources of inspiration in a long lineage of sun-bathed music with sprinkles of unfinished projects and weird experiments.
We’re on this friday at Praia when the sun’s the highest. Enjoy the ride ☀️
Couldn’t help but turn the meme-machine on and start pushing out a couple of funnies to get you in the mood 🤝 by @funkamente

It’s been a while since we last posted in here but that could change soon because we’re pivoting into memes!

Throughout the year we’re coming back for a few selected gigs and break our hiatus with the first one today in the great lands of Caparica and what a great day to release our first meme pack.

Keep checking this page for announcements of our next DJ sets and… MEMES 🤝 by @funkamente

Quarta-feira, That Side, Funkamente

O set é completamente back-to-back e esta

Wednesday, That Side, Funkamente ❤️‍🔥

@funkamente is about two heads who wear different hats at different times.
Founders of Lisbon’s ESR, usually a DJ team, sometimes making tunes, occasionally bringing
technology into music-related projects.
Coming from very different places, randomly bumped into each other at a time when their
interests were converging into something similar. Luckily enough, seems like where these
interests don't overlap they weirdly complement each other. Since 2018 you’ve been able to
catch them playing the coolest underground dancefloors throughout Europe as well as some
festivals. Their night Funkamental happens every other month at Lux Frágil (Lisbon) and Passos Manuel (Porto). by @funkamente

This night is an experiment as much as it is a play.
Sometime back we spontaneously agreed on playing a set of only 7 inches pitched at the wrong speed. We enjoyed so much playing fast tracks way pitched down that we decided to do it again, only now it’ll be planned, definitely on purpose and all night long.

Entrance is a 5eur charge on the door for everyone - non members of arroz can get signed up on the door and we’ll cover the fee from that ticket: no extra cost for you!

It’s a holiday eve so don’t worry about the school night out, and yes, we’re taking our condesa mixer with us.
Don’t snooze on this, add it to your calendar, invite all your peoples and enjoy the dance 🤝

We couldn’t have asked for a better return to the Balkans. Great weather, food and friends, in such welcoming spots. No cybershots this time as we forgot to charge it but we still managed to collect other shots from the weekend to share with you 🤝

White City Soul i Strogi Centar večeras predstavljaju :

FUNKAMENTE - DJ duo iz Lisabona koji cine Andre Granada i Tiago Pinto. Producenti, DJ-evi, promoteri, osnivaci poznatog ‘East Side’ radija u Lisabonu kao i rezidenti zanimljivog koncept prostora - Duro De Matar i kluba Passos Manuel u Portu.
