Presenting 'I paint flowers so they do not die' Fridha Kahlo

Big thanks to all the team @bathbodyartweekend , I nearly bottled out of this years paint due to burnout, but their gentle but FIRM😅, encouragement reeled me in,and I couldn't stay away!

This year's theme was 'the path less travelled'
I dedicated my paint to the iconoc Fridha Kahlo, who forged her own path ,carrying great pain, as an independent woman artist, stepping out of her husbands shadow,and shining fiercely in her imperfections.

This is the most unplanned paint I have ever done, and the design built as I painted, pushing me to let go of expectation and seeing what could evolve.

I am delighted with the results, and thank my long suffering model @thisizmex0x0 , for her paitience, standing for 6 hours and surviving the winter temperatures 🥶💙.

She wore and exhibited the paint beautifully, and together with the crazygood photography skills of @tobias.spranger, these delightful images were created!📸

Also a massive thanks to the wonderful @magicboxfacepaints for gifting me the perfect blue for my piece 🙏🏻❤️
And to @anniewander1 and team for looking after us,holding space, and generally being fabulous 💫👌

Wow, what a day. Final photoshoot day of year 2 Uni degree. Character realisation. Meet 'Kyomi' trained in the traditional arts of a Geisha. Total learning curve, using new skills in hair and airbrushing.

Presenting my work entitled 'Inner Animal', the outcome of the Advanced Specialist Skills Module that started my second year Uni Journey! I took part in @colegycymoedd very own @glowupbbc competition and was chuffed to be awarded second place 🎉:)

Within this module, the models inner animal was researched and brought to life by myself, using a two part nose prosthetic, sculpted and moulded from a life cast, and two flat moulds covering eyebrows. The prosthetics were pre-coloured and detailed using Skin illustrator palettes and blended into the skin. Depth and hair textures created using DFX and Facepaint Australia water based paints. Antlers were sculpted using pipe cleaners,
papier-mache and polyfiller.

Big thanks to @alicemakeupandhair for embracing her inner animal and being so fantastic to work with 🦌❤️
