Have you ever looked back on your life and wondered what brought you to where you are today?

I think most of us have been through situations that slowly drained our confidence, our energy, and sometimes even our peace of mind. Sometimes the signs are obvious. Other times, it happens so gradually that you don't realize it until one day you have what I call a "come to Jesus moment."

That moment when you finally wake up and say:

"I've had enough."

"I'm taking my power back."

"It's time to move forward."

That moment inspired my new song, Enough Is Enough.

This song is about recognizing unhealthy patterns, reclaiming your voice, finding emotional healing, and having the courage to choose yourself.

But it's not just a message—it's a groove.

I normally don’t talk about this publicly…But I lost my mother when I was only 8 years old.

For a long time, I carried that pain quietly inside me. And every Mother’s Day, those memories come back — her voice, her love, the feeling of missing someone you never stop loving.

That’s why I wrote “Mother’s Day” by Velvet Voices.

It is with heavy hearts that we honor the life and legacy of James Gadson.
James wasn’t just one of the greatest drummers of all time—he was family. A true pillar of the Funk Therapy Music collective, his groove, his spirit, and his wisdom helped shape not only the music… but the soul of what we do.
From playing on some of the most iconic records in history to inspiring generations of musicians, James brought something rare to every note he played—feeling, purpose, and truth.
But beyond the music, he was a kind, humble, and deeply respected man. A dear friend to Michael B. Sutton, and to all of us who had the blessing of knowing him.
He didn’t play to impress…
He played to uplift.
He played for the song.
He played from the heart.
And that’s a rhythm that will live on forever.
