Philadelphia’s Funkiest Non Custodial Clown
Learning to use Instagram a little more every day

I actually can’t leave it at that. I can’t go on without shouting out the incredible members of what I affectionately called “Team Funk”, for giving up so much of their time, weekend and lower back helping me pull everything together in time.

Thank you to Callie, for giving up so much of your trip from Boston rhinestoning, sewing and being incredible moral support. Distance could never damper my love for you.

Thank you to Fern and Mikey for traveling to my house, putting so much attention to detail into my vision, helping take my photos and being there to support me every step of the way. It is so special in this life to have such true friendship.

Thank you to Lex for not only all of the physical work of making this costume but for being my sounding board when it came to my grand ideas, and for always believing I could make it happen. Truly, this doesn’t come together without your time, artistic talent and unconditional love.

And thank you to Silas, for stepping up and learning to rhinestone when you’d never stoned a day in your life. For staying up with me until the sun was coming up, letting me cry but not letting me give up and call in terribly sick when I was so sure I wouldn’t get it all done. Your love and support of all of the silliness and freak behavior that makes me who I am is the reason I’m chasing my wildest dreams.

I wish I could thank everyone who has ever loved me but I’ll just leave off with a big thank you to the people who came out to support me (Maddie, Aidan, Blake, Quest, Mike and probably others I was so frazzled that night)

Being Funky Custodian is one of the greatest joys of my life and I’ll never take for granted that I have such incredible people to share it with!
Long live Team Funk!!

(Fun fact: the last photos are the first sketches I ever did of this idea. The first scribbled on a napkin at an old job. This was over two years ago and a year and a half before Funky ever left my imagination. I’m so grateful to be in a place where this wild idea could finally see the light of day)

(Double fun fact: this skirt was made from an umbrella I stole from UArts, RIP to the diva, she’s always with me) by @funkycustodian

It taking me less than a month to post about a thing? That’s got to be a new record.

Tiny little sappy story really fast: For my entire life I’ve wanted to be a pageant girl more than anything in the world. I wanted to wear a big shiny crown and parade my little self around. But even more than wearing the crown, I’ve always wanted to earn it and be worthy of representing something. Now, 3 Saturdays ago, I did not win my crown (damn my mediocre dancing skills) But for the first time in my life, I truly feel like I’m actually on the path to achieving that dream. And that’s pretty special.

Please enjoy my runway look, along with my answer from the Drag U Up the Hill Pageant (my first pageant). This outfit was the product of so much of not only my own time and effort but also the people who care about me. I was so so shrouded in love the entire night. I am so eternally grateful to my friends and to the community for creating space for me and my stupidity.

Hopefully Miss Funk will be wearing her big crown very very soon!! taken in Gayborhood, Philadelphia by @funkycustodian

Posting Pride pictures most of the way through July? Unfortunately more likely than you’d think.

Pride was literally everything I could’ve ever wanted and I had so much fun running around being so silly and gay with everyone. This was the first year I spent Pride introducing myself as Funky and I’d never felt more alive. Weeeeee!!!

Recently I decided that I’m either going to get better at social media or better at sewing, with that in mind I’m making a new outfit for Critique Cabaret on the 28th, so please come and see where my effort has been going! Much love always my Funkinators <3 taken in Gayborhood, Philadelphia by @funkycustodian

It could be just the wind, but I’m FAIRLY certain I heard a calling to post this full number. And when called, Funky responds.

Please enjoy all 3 minutes and 46 seconds of my clownery, buffoonery, and PG-13 burlesque!

A big thank you again to Critique Cabaret for giving me a stage to show my silly stupid art, and big love to all my Funkinators <3 taken in Theatre Exile by @funkycustodian

While I have you here, please also enjoy my winning performance from September’s edition of Drag University. I finally edited it so I’m not showing tit and breast on main. 🤪💅 taken in Gayborhood, Philadelphia by @funkycustodian

Funky Custodian?? FINALLY using this Instagram that she very conveniently got the perfect username for??? Well, yes. Enjoy some photos of the costume I made (some of) for my victory lap performance after winning September’s edition of Drag University at 254. Also some of the performance itself (two videos, because I wanna HEAR IT for the split). Keep your eyes peeled because Little Miss Funky is coming to town. taken in Gayborhood, Philadelphia by @funkycustodian
