You can know what's registered if you have your own account with the databases that help capture your royalties! resourcechecklist.flavajazz.com #musicroyalties #musicmetadataexplained by @funkyfiddlah

Your distributor got your song on Spotify. That doesn't mean you're registered with SoundExchange, the MLC, Luminate, Mediabase, or Sound Mouse.

When your track gets played on satellite radio, webcasts, or synced to film, the royalty sits unclaimed because those databases have no idea your song even exists.

Missing data in those systems doesn't trigger an alert. It triggers silence. Even worse, no bank deposits.

Most independent musicians lose thousands in royalties because they assume registering with their PRO and distributor means the song is automatically registered everywhere.

It does not.

Your royalties sit in a black box instead of being paid to you unless you've registered your songs' metadata where the money actually flows.

Start with the free Release Resource Checklist to see what registrations are missing for your catalog right now. Grab it at resourcechecklist.flavajazz.com

Your distributor uploaded your song. That doesn't mean you're registered everywhere.

Most independent musicians think TuneCore or DistroKid means they're covered. It doesn't.

Distributors get your recording onto streaming platforms. They don't automatically register your song with the five key royalty databases unless you opted in (and many don't even offer it).

When your track plays on satellite radio, webcasts, or gets synced to film, that royalty sits unclaimed. No alert. Just silence.

SoundExchange, the MLC, Luminate, Mediabase, Sound Mouse. Each one needs your metadata registered separately. Billboard reported this gap because it's costing musicians real money.

Most never find out why the deposits never happened. They're busy watching stream counts and chart placements.

Start with our Release Resource Checklist to see what's actually needed and where you need to be registered.

Best way to know is to at least know where your songs are supposed to be registered.
