This is it. At some point in the next few days--based entirely on DistroKid's whim--"In Light of Changes" will be released. The last two months have been a fever dream (mostly from the sleeplessness and malnourishment). But it has been an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. We were fortunate to be able to work with @dansawyer1, @ricky_lipinski, and most importantly, Greg Doyle, on this album. These all happen to be members of the two most impactful bands in Funky Lamp's upbringing, and the mark they made on this album represents the mark they've made on us.

So much has happened over the course of this album that "changes" puts it lightly. But countless late nights, conversations stewed over, tough decisions, and re-recordings later, I take comfort in the feeling that we did right by the music. I hope you guys feel the same way.

And now, for a line that might be as old as time itself: pre-save link in bio by @funkylamppgh

🎶 WELCOME BACK, FUNKY LAMP! 🎶

We’re excited to welcome Funky Lamp back for the SECOND ANNUAL Bellevue Music Festival! 🎸

Pittsburgh-based Funky Lamp calls their sound “South Oakland Funk,” but putting this four-piece into just one genre isn’t easy. Their music brings together funk, alternative, indie, punk, folk, soul, jazz, and Latin influences, creating a sound that’s catchy, eclectic, and packed with energy. Known for their infectious live performances, Funky Lamp has become a familiar part of Pittsburgh’s thriving independent music scene. Their catalog includes the 2024 full-length album In Light of Changes and 2025’s Punky Lamp EP, showcasing just how comfortably the band moves between genres while maintaining a sound that is distinctly their own.

If you joined us for our inaugural festival in 2025, you may remember Funky Lamp, and we’re thrilled to have them back for year two! 🙌

📅 Saturday, September 26, 2026

Black Lodge was illuminating. We are incredibly grateful for everyone that made for such a fun night: every band, audience member, friend, and, of course, the folks who graciously hosted it in the first place.

Those lampshades still need to have all the sweat cleaned off, though, if anybody would like to lend a hand.

Our new song, “Love You, I,” could not have had a better live debut. Rumor has it that more funkiness is yet to come this year. Are you ready?

As we move into 2026, we wanted to thank you for your support in this past year. From Haven to Block Party, from Lawrenceville to Southside to State College, we loved meeting new friends and playing for old ones. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Punky Lamp, our 2025 release. Look forward to more music this year! <3 taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @funkylamppgh

Did we get you wet at Oakland Block Party? We sure hope so. If you’re thirsty for more, come see us at Bellevue Music Festival on Saturday, September 27th, 6pm, at the Pittsburgh Pinball Dojo.
